Can I ask you how you solved this specifically? I haven't been able to play on my laptop because of this :(

Re: Super Better Than Wolves Dev Diary ft. BETA RELEASE?!
Weird crash that occurred while mortaring cobblestone, might be unrelated since crash log talks about basket rendering. Mcpatcher is the root of all evil!! In all seriousness, I just forgot to include the mcpatcher files with the release, so the game didn't know where to look to render baskets prop...

Re: Super Better Than Wolves Dev Diary ft. BETA RELEASE?!
https://i.imgur.com/PeSvcCa.png A player named rohanguard1 asked if I could fork a version of SBTW without the new gourds, so I went ahead and prepared a full beta release of SBTW 2.0! This was exactly the kind of request I needed to kick my butt into actually releasing something, as the amount of ...

Re: New Release! Super Better Than Wolves V1.0 [overhaul/expansion/modpack]
Hypothetically, is it possible for there to be a version of this without the melon changes? My friend and I want to play with the regular melons. That shouldn't be hard to do at all. The new gourds are totally separate from the old ones (they just share a seed). MSG me on Discord and I can fork you...

Re: Are melons OP?
I hope resurrecting this thread is okay. Is there an update on the state of this? Would more people working on the code for this help, maybe? Or is this stuck in the design phase? Will pumpkins also be considered? They kind of ruined the food progression for my playing group because there isn't rea...

Re: Third-Person Camera: Fine or not?
It is busted. But I have this strict idea in my head that MC is a first person game and looks super lame in 3rd person so I don't play that way. EDIT: The zoomer behavior of rapidly switching between first and third person mode in a hyper way is definitely majorly helped by third person though, and ...

https://i.imgur.com/HAcsxFW.png Today, the trowel was finally completed. I have discussed it in previous posts, but basically it draws mortar items from your inventory and applies them to blocks with right click. Useful for large brick and mortar type building projects! Sock did the texture and hel...

Re: Removal of incredibly easy-access to cheats
I think I make a pretty reasonable case. I used to think the same way--why the hell can we bypass no cheat mode? But shit happens. In the end, I was very glad I had access to LAN cheats when a massive chunk of my time suddenly vanished. So where do we draw the line? Do we have a text file config so ...

Also, did he ever publicly write down a more detailed explanation of what it would have been, and how and where it would have gone further than BTW? My greatest regret is not prodding him to release his notes before leaving us. It just did not cross my mind. He also deleted his YouTube channel I th...

Re: Removal of incredibly easy-access to cheats
I'm very glad that you had nothing to do with BTW's development. Oh get off the forum and play the game. Over time, tastes change. There was a period of time when FC was pretty amped up about a personal project called Return To Home that would essentially be his take on the sandbox survival game. I...

Re: Player Wraith - linking overworld features to nether
I had a similar idea a long time ago before sleeping was added! Instead of an autonomous player creature, however, I thought that the player could just switch between his steve body and his golem body. In order to cut down on insane travel times, a golem could be used to explore or work at a village...

Re: Way to prevent climbing waterfalls
I think being able to descend into a ravine and have a way to go back up again is exciting, since it lets you drop right into a FUN cave without a massive investment of a ramp. Sometimes there isn't any water anyway, so you still get to build a GOT style log rampart of death. I would only make a cha...

Re: Super Better Than Wolves Dev Diary ft. Community Server Prep
CE limits the amount of reeds you can grow by how many unique plants you can find out in the world. Don't forget that you can pretty easily buy them from the farmer so it's not that limited ;) I just learned that from Sock today. Ideally, I would like to have a little jar of water that we can germi...

https://i.imgur.com/9E0oXlK.png As of now, all gourds and seeds have been coded. Seed textures not final! Re: New Release! (BTW CE 2.0)
The tiered chiseling on the crafting bench is really nice BTW. I don't think many people jump into Better Than Wolves blind and make it all the way to crafting bench these days, but the instant feedback of chisel + stump seems way more useful than what we had before.

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans
Rotation eats up metadata (think of all the ways you can place a log), so every unique way a block can look is generally taking up data real estate.

Slimes are deathballs. In my experience, they seem to deal damage much faster than any other mob, possibly because they get right up in your body as basically a tiny living hitbox?

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans
Yeah, BTA completely refreshes the 1.5.2 experience. It used to be very forest heavy, but Dawn added more plains-type biomes so I am placated :> What I want though is something more extreme, like random mega generation. A meadow plateau touching the clouds followed by a sheer drop (like the farlands...

Re: Tree Decay & Deeper Oceans
I don't know about deeper oceans, but more radical height variance would be cool for terrain generation in general. I'd like to see sweeping valleys, gorges with rivers running through them, and even flat expanses. The 1.5.2 terrain generator keeps everything at about sea level, and land is never ge...

EDIT: Just looked, 2.0.3 is the latest version

Imgur to delete old, unregistered content.. bad for the BTW Forum?
I saw this while looking at a porn subreddit: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/14415587638029 According to the new imgur TOS, unregistered images hosted on the site will be deleted. I personally have used imgur without registering to post all of my images to this forum. I assume this is the ...
