Re: New Release! (BTW 4.65) [*** NO SPOILERS ***]
-Changed the bucket recipe to use 7 iron nuggets in a 'U' pattern, instead of 3 iron ingots, to better balance it for the recent changes to iron. Doesn't this conflict with the vanilla cauldron (btw renamed it to: cistern) recipe? No, because the cistern uses ingots, not nuggets in the recipe. By t...

Try recreating the spiral, but replace the glass with an opaque block, and see if that makes any difference. I've noticed things have a tendency to get stuck in glass blocks.

Re: Mojang April Fools Joke?
It was clear from the moment I first saw it that this was all a big joke, considering the date, but when I read the first line in the changelog, about super hostile mode, my first thought was that they were adding BTW to minecraft. The second line about locking difficulty reinforced this notion, as ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.64)
The dung block change happened in version 4.6. From the release notes: Changed Dung blocks so that they are part of aesthetic earth blocks, which allows them to behave in a manner more consistent with their material type. This necessitates a conversion for previously existing Dung blocks, which wil...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.64)
I'm not sure if this is even significant or not, but I'll put it in spoilers just in case. I noticed that all the dung blocks I had were now labeled Old Dung, and could be converted to Block of Dung in the crafting table. I don't even know if this happened in this release or a previous one, but the ...

mushroom and dung in cauldron cook forever
Using the latest BTW 4.64, I've found a bug where if you have either type of mushroom in a cauldron with dung, the cooking meter will fill up as if it's cooking something, but then nothing happens, and the cooking meter starts going up again. This will continue to happen as long as there are both du...

-torch changes...Additionally, this increases the value of Nethercoal in the middle game. Curious, does this mean nethercoal still gives 4 torches, or is it more valuable because it essentially costs half the coal? I just checked, and nether coal gives only 1 torch as well, so it's the latter. But ...

Wow, man... Everything in this changelog is amazing, but this is just pure genius: -Added Hardcore Lactation to the mod. I mean, it makes perfect sense when you think about it, and you wonder why it wasn't like that from the start, but still... genius. The changes to iron are certainly going to be i...

Re: Problems With Account Migration
From everything I've heard, doing the account migration prevents you from being able to play Minecraft, and this has (I believe) been an issue since the migration started. And sadly, the only fix I know of is to buy another account. I wish you luck with this. Just to put it out there, I migrated my...

Re: Steve's just big boned. [spoilers]
I found something that I think might be an oversight. Uncooked carrots still restore two hunger, while cooked carrots restore just one. Also, for comparison, uncooked potatoes restore half a hunger, and cooked potatoes restore one. Otherwise, I'm quite enjoying the update so far! I'm actually making...

Re: [4.58] BTW Official Co-Op Server [Fuzzy Bunnies - Whitel
Now that I've connected my road to the main network, I'm focusing on going up the BTW tech tree. I finally found enough diamonds for a diamond pick, and made a nether portal. When I went through it, I got attacked by groth. There was a wall of dirt right near the portal that I was able to use to esc...

STRONGHOLD BREACHED! The path to the stronghold is off of a bridge I started, which is currently only a long path of cobblestone slabs hanging in midair. I've never been super good at aesthetics, so anyone who wants to can feel free to make it look nice. It will probably need a roof, since it's in ...

Re: What's the last new vanilla feature you really used?
I've enjoyed and used all the changes they've made to inv management, like shift clicking and pressing number keys to move items to hotbar, and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming ability to evenly spread items in the crafting grid. I enjoy exploring the abandoned mineshafts. I use pistons a ...

Here's a quick and helpful video about the changes: I think the coolest thing I got from that video was that swamp slime spawning is affected by moon phase. Most of the other stuff I've already heard about from previous discussions in this thread. But thanks for posting that, it was indeed quite he...

Re: Hardcore Spawn Request for Info
I have spawned (in my SSP world) in the same place, or at least the same general area, multiple times. There have been two times I spawned just a couple hundred blocks to the west of my spawn in what looked like the same place (these were a long time apart), and I've spawned maybe 3-4 times close en...

Re: [Spoilers][Legit play only]Arcane scroll drops
Did I get extremely lucky, or is the drop rate of scrolls from bats really high? I killed four bats with my battle axe while caving, and the first three all dropped a scroll.
Anyway, it will be fun to think up a way to farm bats.

Well, I'm not exactly sure if I understand what you're saying, but if the lens beam is broken by something passing in front of the detector block, then the detector block won't turn off because it is now seeing what blocked the beam.

Only lava source blocks turn into obsidian when they come into contact with water. Flowing lava just turns to cobble. This is vanilla behavior, and I don't think BTW does anything to change it.

Will It be first person like minecraft, or more of an omniscient perceptive like DF? This was answered on the first page. In answer to both this and the question that followed, there will thus be a lot of superficial similarities between vanilla MC and RTH. Both will likely be voxel-based first per...

Re: Place your bets : rampant speculation on the new feature
I'm hoping it's something like seasons, though I'm pretty sure it won't. Would be awesome though, like in spring, animals will randomly mate to produce offspring. In summer your crops will grow a lot faster, but you'd have to irrigate them more efficiently, or they'll dry out. And in fall there's a...
