Re: Snow: The worst thing
According to the Minecraft Wiki torches melt snow in a 2 block radius, so unless that was changed in BTW you'll need a torch every four blocks. Torches also melt nearby snow and ice, making them useful to keep skylights from being snowed over and lakes from freezing in snow biomes. The torches will ...

Reading through some of those, I realize just how long I've been following BTW. I think I joined the tens to tens of thousands just after Modloader support... Things certainly were different back then. :P

Re: Video game soundtracks
Oh man. There are too many just from one game. I'm a huge fan of Monster Hunter, and they have some really great soundtracks out there. Spoilering for the sake of size. This first one is called Lunar Abyss. It's part of the battle music for one of the larger monsters, called Ceadeus. It always gives...
Re: Zork
I'd recommend the Aardwolf MUD . They've got an excellent community and an extremely extensive set of help files for new players. I'm not sure how long Aardwolf has been running, since 1998 I believe, but it's basically a reboot of an even older MUD called Aardvark that was suffering a slow death to...

Re: HC Villagers (speculation)
Iron Golem farms have been made pretty redundant, as iron is wrapped into regular mob traps. As for the villagers, I'm less wondering about villager breeding and more wondering about villager trading. How will that play out? Will the specialization villagers have more specialized items? FC has alrea...

Re: Is it a bad thing?
I'm actually experiencing something very similar, and I think it can mostly be explained by a desire to do something. In my case I really enjoy writing creatively and forging my own little personal realities, but I don't do it nearly enough. On some level I've realized this and so don't feel incline...

Re: Preventing fire from burning your builds
This MCF thread details nearly everything you need to know about how fire spreads: Predicting and Preventing Fire Spread It's only up to date for Minecraft 1.1, but I'm certain that the information is still valid. It helped me quite a bit when I was doing the Tree Spirit challenge. Good resource for...

Here's a pretty good video on tripwire related shenanigans:

No, your analogy was pretty spot on there. It's like putting a band-aid on a malignant tumor and saying "It'll get better."

I would assume it's basically how the game was before Jagex picked it up, added classes and made the trench warfare mechanic obselete. I looked at the game before and after those changes and it definitely suffered, glad to hear the classic is back. :P

Re: Are Endermen supposed to aggro through walls?
I'm aware of the sounds they make when not aggro'd. This one screamed at me for a good 7 seconds, so I'm pretty sure it was an aggro sound. :P My thought there was that the enderman I saw was holding endstone. Endermen holding endstone eventually teleport back to the End. Maybe they play the aggro s...

Re: Are Endermen supposed to aggro through walls?
Huh, well. That's weird and decidedly freaky. I'll check it off as vanilla being buggy then. The enderman I'd thought was trying to rearrange my face ended up not actually being aggro'd to me. I wonder if there's any correlation between that sound and teleporting back to the end... Anyway, my questi...

The brick directly beneath the leftmost and the bottom right water spout. They're the same, just with slightly different shading. You can tell by the odd contours on the right side of the brick. The physics of your water coming out of the middle spout is a little off. It looks like the water decides...

Are Endermen supposed to aggro through walls?
As per title. I was building in my house the other day. I took a break to rest my hands for a second, and what do I hear? That freaky aggro scream (Kudos on that FC, it's definitely sinister). The issue was: I was looking at a cobble wall. There was no Enderman in sight on my screen, I had even take...

Re: How does water work
You can classify any unnatural or man made waterway as a canal. All you need to do is dig a trench in the ground and run water through it, like in this picture: http://minecraft-guides.net/images/guide/mobfarm2.jpeg Alternatively, you can have a canal suspended in the air, like so: http://imageshack...

Does it have to be anime, or does manga work as well? Psyren is a pretty awesome manga. Also, I'm in the process of reading Air Gear. I don't know if it has an anime or not, but it's pretty interesting.

What I don't understand is how he managed to break the sound barrier. Wouldn't he have stopped accelerating due to terminal velocity by then?

Yeah, Crysyn1 and Sinlust also started BtW LP today, were you invited to that? [link for other people] Oh my. I didn't quite realize until watching this, but a lot of the changes FC made to vanilla really make logical sense. When the two found out about the bonemeal, within a minute they were sayin...
