...but it certainly feels like a step in the right direction. I defer to your long standing expertise on the topic then. :) Once you see how it works in practice, I think it will all become clear :) Having started a new world to experience the full extent of headed beastie, it'll be a long time bef...

Hoookay looks like a game of hay in a needlestack just started! Holy fuzz muffins. I know I moaned about it constantly before and just took it in stride as part of the difficulty of BTW but I am absolutely ECSTATIC to have a way to mitigate the random danger of deserts. I love you for this one FC. T...

Re: [Spoilers] BTW Tech Tree Visualization (Round 3)
Reminds me more of mycelium (real world version) than a 'tree' tbh, but damn I can appreciate the complexity of the mod by how much it hurts trying to comprehend all that. Haven't seen an error yet, but then again I might've missed something with all the branches.

-Changed boats to be burnable in the furnace. Always wanted to stuff nautical transport craft inside my oven, best Christmas gift ever! Seriously I'm not kidding, I can count three times I died to gloom because I ran out of sawdust/bark/logs/planks and I still had a big wooden boat. Seriously thoug...

Re: Eyes of Ender recipe
Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the level required 4? The max level required something that needed steel, and you can't even get that before being bottlenecked into Eye grinding. You're probably right, but this is starting to feel like the spread eagle stripper in a wheelbarrow again. Ach...my ...

Re: Hell Borne Forestry and its Limitations
Yeah I read that, but the wiki is woefully limited in information. I'd put some in if I knew how to actually do it. Guess I'll be doing some creative tests to figure some stuff out after all. EDIT: Right, lovely little tidbits. > Bloodwood is vulnerable to fire and lava. So I assume this means it's ...

Hell Borne Forestry and its Limitations
I'm just begining to tackle making a wither trap in the nether and having been killed three times by errant ghast fire, I spent the better part of a day's play session to make myself a bloodwood sapling. QUESTION: What events would make it stop growing (because I'm sure it happened to me before)? La...

Re: Early-game mushroom farming?
Ditto on DA's design, that is ingenious. Although it feels a bit cheaty, you definitely can't argue with results like that. What's the turnout on those things btw?

Re: Early-game mushroom farming?
What exactly was enough space between the shrooms though? Was it three? I suppose the platforms could be a little longer, but I'm past that tech level now :) Should be useful for comet though.

Re: Happy [Sorta] Conceptionversarry!
Here were the first six listed in the original discussion thread: 1) Photo-resistors (circuit elements that detect the presence of light and can change logic flow based on it). 2) Water/lava gates to control the flow of liquids for use in traps and such. 3) Fence gates. Block creatures in the same ...

Re: Early-game mushroom farming?
I thought a bit about the issue at hand, since I noticed the mushroom trade was lower than mycelium (go figure) so I dug up my pre-stumps world where I had a no mycelium farm for them. The design is basically 11x3 raised platforms in a 2 block high room that was repeated as necessary. It was extreme...

Re: Early-game mushroom farming?
To be honest, I've never relied on any food source that required shrooms early game, and apart from storing a few for the eventual mycelium field, I just use them as soon as I can. Maintaining an efficient (in terms of cost effectiveness) brown mushroom farm pre mycelium is...tedious without iron to...

Re: Happy [Sorta] Conceptionversarry!
Nothing but an over-enthusiastic tribute on my part - but I'll settle for managing to get an internal chuckle out of ya :) Although I must say it was influenced in part by the growing gap in interactivity within the community. Times were, I entertained myself with both the constructive and mundane, ...

Re: Happy [Sorta] Conceptionversarry!
I think I typically celebrate the mod's anniversary on April 9th, when the first version was released, and would have preferred to not dig up some of the darker aspect of the mod's history, but thanks just the same. Will leave the thread open for now, but for everyone else, let's please not turn th...

Re: Happy [Sorta] Conceptionversarry!
It's a [sort of] history of the mod, as far back as I remember it - which was at the point where Flowerchild trolled everyone with Windmills [the earlier days I had to back read that 2000+ page long thread]. It's been five years of history for me, painful and fond. I say in no light terms that this ...

I know it happened on the second, but I was indisposed the past few days and failed to post it. Happy Conceptionversarry! I noticed this (possibly accidental?) feature in my new world playthrough recently, and I must say I'm tickled pink. I was transporting chickens in a swamp when gloomy night befell me. Being with iron armor but still scared shitless of slimes I chose to block the entrance to my hidey hole with a ful...
