Re: [1.5.2][GUIDE] How-to install BTW w/ MCLauncher & MCPatc
You shouldn't be copy/pasting anything. The spoiler boxes are just showing you what the sections of the file look like. Just scroll down to the very bottom of the .json file, and delete the section between the 4 and last } Sorry, the way I phrased that might've made it confusing. I meant I tried ma...

Re: [1.5.2][GUIDE] How-to install BTW w/ MCLauncher & MCPatc
The problem you are having is that you didn't edit the .json file before launching the game. If you do not remove everything between the designated 4 and last } (INCLUDING the comma(,) after the 4) Minecraft will replace your modded jar. Once you have completed all the steps properly, you can use t...

Re: [1.5.2][GUIDE] How-to install BTW w/ MCLauncher & MCPatc
There is a problem with the new launchers settings not meshing with MCPatcher. Get the directions from a post in this very thread, http://www.sargunster.com/btwforum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=8506&start=25#p152390. ;) Any further questions, don't hesitate to ask. Is there a way for me to make it ...

Living in a mountain biome with silverfish
The ambient silverfish sound has made living in a mountain biome (in carved out mountains and underground) quite irritating. I love the sound, especially when I'm in the caves or in my mine - it adds a lot of ambience - but it just doesn't stop when I'm in my base and there is not much I could do sh...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.99999A0D Marsupial??!!)
It's fine. Original spawn is a special magical place within the world, and things behave differently there. That's consistent with the backstory of the mod. I changed item despawn behavior more because I disliked the gaminess of not having to rush to get your stuff elsewhere rather than because of ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.99999A0D Marsupial??!!)
Hey, I was the guy who posted about items despawning near original spawn in the feedbacks. It's been a busy couple of months so I haven't replied. I wasn't really upset because I had lost my stuff. I was upset because it was inconsistent. If I had died literally anywhere else, I would have gotten my...

Dying near original spawn is unfair
Normally, you have all of the time in the world to get your items back provided that they weren't destroyed (in lava or from creepers or something) but not near original spawn. Because certain number of chunks stay loaded near original spawn, dying there almost certainly mean your items will despawn...

Re: Request for removing Endermen's ability to pick up block
I don't really care much about getting grass block early game. I don't mind having to wait for grass to spread underground, which I rarely do since I build almost exclusively above ground. Looked it up, Endermen can pick up mycelium, which is a cool thing. Maybe the add-on can leave mycelium on the ...

Request for removing Endermen's ability to pick up blocks
Endermen's ability to pick up blocks used to have a purpose and was a part of the tech tree, but that was changed in the update 4.8942. Now they are just annoying tall flocks and serve no in-game purpose (as far as I know at least, sorry I haven't been very far down the tech tree) but to irritate pl...

Re: Items after death
Unless you didn't realize you were very near where you died, the chunks shouldn't have been loaded and you should've been able to recover your items. What probably happened is you died near your original spawn, and those chunks always stay loaded, so your items despawned. Happened to me a couple of ...

Re: Any way to keep chunks loaded in SSP?
When I was a newb, I went nomad for an occupied village before settling. It took about ~8 hours (I don't remember how long exactly, but it definitely didn't take more than 24 hours), so it's possible that he did that. I think you may have gotten rather lucky. With a nether portal network to take me...

Re: Any way to keep chunks loaded in SSP?
as long as it is done before you actually start playing the world. Yeah, I was planning on doing it before starting, not in the middle of playing in the world. There's really nothing there that gives me an advantage there. Actually, I lose some advantages. There's an abandoned village near original...

Re: Any way to keep chunks loaded in SSP?
Build at spawn, a certain number of chunks around spawn always remain loaded. Really? That explains why my items despawned when I died near spawn... I thought it was the furnaces burning that kept the chunks loaded. Anyways, if this is true, do you guys consider it cheating to move the spawn (using...

Re: Surviving early game surrounded by jungle
I found a forest just across the ocean not so far from spawn. I might settle there or just find pumpkins, collect some wood, and go back to spawn. Either way, it'll be interesting. Right now though, I'm waiting out a thunderstorm in a hole surrounded by mobs.

Surviving early game surrounded by jungle
So I spawned in a relatively small mountain biome surrounded by jungle on one side and the ocean on the other. It's beautiful and I'd like to stay in it, but it lacks renewable very-early game food. Usually, I would rush to craft a hoe and plant pumpkins to feed chickens, but there's no pumpkin in s...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
Aaaaaand 1.7 prelease is out, yeah! or not :/ https://mojang.com/2013/10/minecraft-1-7-the-update-that-changed-the-world/ What really annoys me about 1.7 is that I can't avoid the changes. I have been able to ignore the previous features such as horses and comparators but I can't ignore the biomes....
