Re: Zachtronics made a new thing - SHENZEN I/O

Yeah seconded, great game, feels like a more advanced version of TIS-100. Bit higher price but well worth it.

Seems like there's a cool story developing in the game too which is awesome.

Re: Fallout 4 is finally good

I played through Fallout 4 pretty blind, put about 60 hours in, enjoyed it then left it alone for a few months. I came back to look at the store page on Steam and Jesus...I didn't realise how much people were savaging it. It's like the game killed a close family member of theirs. Why are people so p...

Re: Gamemaker: Studio Pro (humble bundle)

I bought the bundle. You receive keys to all the software named in the bundle for the amount you spend when you buy it. I believe they offered the same bundle around the same time last year. Other than issues with activating the software (their email servers are pretty overwhelmed atm. Took me a cou...

There's a really good tut on Game Maker that starts you off completely from scratch, that is, with no programming or dev experience whatsoever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLUtKzyIe0aB2HjpmBhnsHpK7ig0z7ohWw&v=DN6dZWXUEzA It's from the guy who made Gunpoint, really fun little game. He take...

Re: Ark: Scorched Earth and Early Access DLC

Yeah it's shady, but people do this shit to themselves. I loaded it up once, saw the shitty optimisation, then never played it again. In hindsight I should've asked for a refund. End of story. But then you have people that put 500+ hours into the game and then complain about how shitty it is. How ca...

Re: Windows 10 to kill steam?

I always try and run the oldest revision of windows that still has mainstream support. I only dropped XP about 3 years ago, and I was running 7 up until about 3 months ago when I realised Overwatch needed SP1 at a minimum so I upgraded it. For me, Windows (and any operating system really) has always...

Yeah I'd seriously advise treating every pigman as though they're hostile. They have some pretty funky aggro mechanics.

Re: Steam Sale Season

I grabbed SpeedRunners, a steal at the price they're offering, ridiculously fun game, Cloudberry Kingdom, good for a bit of infuriating platforming, and Undertale which is ok, but I haven't really gotten into the massive hype that surrounds it.

If you see a FaceFoiled jumping around, gimme a holla! Yeah I'm seriously considering buying it now. I think it all c...

Re: Overwatch

It's good fun, but not worth the price they're asking. Especially for something that essentially feels like a TF2 clone which has been free for ages now. Also ever since I started buying up games on Steam I'm wary of dishing out anything more than 10 bucks on a game these days.

Re: The Souls series

My habit is to play through each game once without looking anything up unless I'm totally stuck, and then look at guides for my second playthrough. It's definitely possible. That all said... I adore games that make me work hard for every bit of progress. I certainly understand that not being everyo...

Re: The Souls series

I picked up DS1 a couple years ago but only really got around to playing it a few weeks ago. I didn't really understand the hype. To me it felt like a fairly average RPG that was made artificially more difficult by spacing out when you can save your progress. I didn't find it fun enough to warrant a...

Re: Hardcore Spawn Difficulty

I think everyone gets apprehensive with it at first, which is understandable. But death without some dire consequence behind it is pointless. The constantly looming threat of imminent death in BTW is honestly terrifying, as it should be. The idea that you can just die, spawn, walk a couple of meters...

I think I wound up buying the rabbit's foot from the traveling merchant at some point, as I never wound up raising any rabbits. I think raising rabbits is actually the hardest way to go about getting the foot. It seems they only really begin to drop once they get to 5 hearts. Most I ever got them t...

Re: Stardew Valley

Haha yeah, after reviewing other people's farms as well I think mine is a bit overkill. Mine's currently at about 500 crops plus the glasshouse. I think once I've completed the community center I'll be done with the game for now anyway. That basically involves waiting a month until fall so I can get...

Re: Stardew Valley

After coming near the end of the main play through after around 50 hours, I was quite satisfied with the single player experience. It makes sense with the RPG nature of the game and I never really felt as though the experience would be massively enhanced with multiplayer. That said I wouldn't mind p...

Re: Stardew Valley

I've put about 6 hours into it and it's beautifully crafted. It's such a time sink though, you get lost in the world. It'll also put your micromanagement to the test. You genuinely have to wake up every morning and plan out your day.

It's as amazing as the reviews say it is.

Re: Factorio: A game all about automation

I guess it comes down to preference. I find games like BTW and Factorio a lot more fulfilling when playing with others, other people like playing through them alone. In Factorio it doesn't feel 'slapped on' or inappropriate, it acts well as a speed multiplier in that you can have people working on d...

To be fair the multiplayer is extremely well polished and well worth the investment of time. I've been playing with a friend the last few weeks and we haven't had a single issue with it.

Good to see all the great reviews too. It certainly deserves all the praise it's been getting.

Re: On world load Hostiles can spawn on top of melons.

That seems to have done the trick. Can confirm this happens at sea level. From a distance they will be darker than they should be, then as you get closer they show the spawn squiggles, closer again and they will brighten to the correct lighting level and the squiggles will disappear. EDIT: The same ...

I haven't played it myself, but like I posted in another thread, I avoid Zombie/Survival/Open World like the plague now. Re: Buying Steam Games Outside of Steam Store

Hmm, I might be a bit wary of G2A and resellers then, did seem a bit fishy. Looks like it mainly happens with big ticket games. I'll probably keep to Steam for the more expensive games. Wasn't aware that Steam could pull games without your knowledge as well. Looks like I might start keeping a log of...
