Re: I feel the need to pimp this LP

His inventory is a lot more consistent than I would expect to result from editing it. Even his experience somewhat resembles punching a bunch of animals and not worrying too much about collecting the orbs. If he holed up for a night or two there probably would have been some dirt in his inventory an...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

This and the fact that the local version editor is marked "(NYI)" indicate that the current situation isn't permanent.

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

I actually can't run BTW on it AT ALL (using the 1.5.2 profile ofc), since it redownloads a new jar every time I play. Copy the 1.5.2 folder in %appdata%\.minecraft\versions, rename all files within that folder to match the folder name, and change all instances of '1.5.2' in the .json to match the ...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Also, how does things look with the new launcher? Will it work with mods fine? I've got it running the latest BTW. Modloader for 1.5 has some problems with it, but I wouldn't worry too much about that. I wouldn't call feature complete on this one yet. Dinnerbone was saying it would be 13w24c before...

They already did. It only shows up if the launcher can't connect to the login server. You can test it by disconnecting from the internet.

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.83)

As for not knowing if early game difficulty is done... Bring it ;) Early game, Late game, I'm always looking for more challenges :P That kind of information is useful for people who want to start a new world knowing that they won't miss a boatload of changes coming next week. :P I've been waiting f...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Mojang appears to be nerfing the interesting behavior of leads/leashes where they would break if they were stretched too far because people wanted to ride horse attached to fence posts, and riding a horse this way would cause the lead to break. Horses breaking leads which are attached to fences onl...

Sorry about that. I wouldn't have re-posted if this topic hadn't been posted first (my fault for not checking), but I guess you do a better job at keeping up with stuff than I thought.

I can still reproduce the chunk loading problem in 4.69 as I described here.

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.68)

Yeah, I should have mentioned that actually. What I suspect is happening with chunk load, is that MC has some kind of throttling system in place that if chunk load takes too long, it drops chunks and you get those visible holes until you approach them. The server sends fewer chunks than are actuall...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of March 18th)

Since the only real utility this gives is dividing stacks in multiples of 3 I would have implemented a key to grab a third of the stacksyou were clicking, like right-clicking grabbing half of the stack. That ignores the edge cases of bulk crafting minecarts, chestplates, pants, or buckets. @FlowerC...

Re: Vanilla Feature court - Session 1 - Analog Redstone

This is a bit of a radical departure for the mod in my mind in that I don't think I've previously ripped out an entire system like this because I didn't like it. I see it as potentially leading to a weird situation with the mod where vanilla redstone and BTW redstone are two very different things a...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of March 18th)

You know, I think this might actually just be a bug resulting from all ores being smeltable in the furnace due to the way the code works, rather than an intentional design decision. I'm thinking it just didn't occur to them when they added silk touch that the furnace would automatically be able to ...
