I passed it my first time without killing a single horseman, there's an item you get in the ocean that can help with that.

On that note, anyone know what's behind the teapot? I don't feel like grinding it atm, busy working up candies for the scythe.

Yeah, when you destroy the teapot, you get a weapon called a Giant Spoon, it does 70 damage and attacks slowly

Re: Game Design: Skipping failed missions

I guess I didn't notice this, or maybe it only appears on certain missions? I never failed a mission more than like 5 times, except in one case when I think I retried it like 15 times, but even then I never saw the prompt to skip the mission. I think it's an unnecessary addition really, they already...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.88)

I suspect it would not, and I know it is kind of special case here, but what happens if I died on 4.87, never respawned and instead hit return to title, and then updated to 4.88, would I still be able to take advantage of the soul sand pile mechanic?

Re: Arg, fuck, kill (ranting at cpw)

cpw is now sticking by his "Mojang told me to do it" position, but I think he's forgetting what started this all. It doesn't matter if Mojang forced him to comply, he was still trying to push his ideology upon the creator of Optifine. As far as I care, the Mojang excuse only works for him ...

Re: Question about challenge relative to other mods

BTW is the first mod I feel has actually been responsible for my death other than the very rare occasion in Thaumcraft. I've never really done TerraFirmaCraft or Twilight Forest, and as such, Minecraft before BTW was always significantly lacking in challenge for me. Forge mods really seem to focus o...

Re: Arg, fuck, kill (ranting at cpw)

i understand the basics code but have no idea how that works, don't you need to edit something in the base classes to make use of new classes, you need to reference an object somewhere to initiate forge. does forge overwrite the main method or something to replace minecrafts default launching code?...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

If this is true: https://twitter.com/minecraftcpw/status/351836586310254592 it kind of feels like they just tried to kill ModLoader, and I find it worrying some people seem to think base-class edits no longer being allowed to be a good thing. EDIT: I stand corrected about ModLoader, and I am impress...

Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve

I had just progressed to an iron pick and sword, and after a very successful mining trip, I made the stupid mistake of attempting to return home while the sun was setting rather than wait the night out in the mine. As I return to my desert abandoned village home, about to place the blocks in the doo...

Redpower will be dead soon, this has been coming for a while. Frames were just made as previously mentioned, Immibis did microblocks and the wiring system + circuit microblocks, Minefactory Reloaded's rednet can act as a replacement for the RP computer, Forestry backpacks act as a much much more bal...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

I just watched the video. Did anyone else notice that the XP bar went from an XP bar to like a jump bar between 1:47 and 1:55? My real question is why exactly they would override an existing feature for something that really should have a separate indicator (if it has to be a feature at all, they pr...

Yeah, I hate this 1.5 change, I usually like to do a lot of fast clicks, but it interprets them completely differently now. They really messed up the timing on this nice little "feature", I constantly have to redistribute things in the table because of it.

Can you launch minecraft using the vanilla launcher? If not, I had a very similar problem a few months back with vanilla minecraft where, for some reason, it was being given too much memory.
