I've mentioned a number of times in the past that my PC is terrible; it really is. I'm actually pretty sure it's coming up on the 7 years mark infact, which kinda makes what has happened a little predictable. Yesterday, my Video card died. And since I've been putting off buying a new PC for a long t...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
You know, if instead of trying to dissect what's left of the dying horse and sew it back up all neatly, they just admitted that they wanted to rebuild minecraft from scratch - I'd support that. Hell, I'd probably buy Minecraft 2 if/when it came out. Throwing massive amounts of money in terms of deve...

Re: The Question Of Multiplayer in RTH
I'm one of those people who tends to almost exclusively play single player games, with the only exceptions tending to be dedicated multiplayer, so it's fairly obvious which choice I'd support were my choice to have any bearing on the end result :p That said, I wouldn't be against the game having som...

Re: Announced KSP Asteroid Capture Mission Pack
I seem to be noticing a bit of a performance increase with the new update, which is welcome. And the improved joints feel good - I was worried it'd be too stiff, but there's still a bit of wobble if you're too heavy-handed with the controls. Cba checking out the new new stuff tonight, but I'll proba...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
I can see it now; start a vMC world, first morning watch a wolf kill a skeleton that's hiding under a tree, then stand there waiting for you to walk over, pick the bone up off the floor, and give it to him. I like the direction they're going with this, but can't help but see the holes. If they can g...

9 hours and counting. I guess it's just one of those things. They have to walk right 12 tiles and then upwards, with nobody saying 'down'. Due to the existence of trolls, one person will always say 'down'.
Ah well. I'm still impressed they managed to use a HM.

Re: Enderman trap redux
You could also set the trap up so that the endermen fall onto a line of glass panes/metal bars. the vast majority of pearls/exp will fall down the sides into a collection stream, and due to the endermen dying instantly they'll spawn fast enough that small losses won't matter. It's also probably the ...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.89PHILLIP)
I know I haven't played minecraft in a long time but I decided to come back to give it a proper go. And it's...really satisfying. I've just finished the hard work of recovering from a hardcore spawn; sat in a hole in the middle of a wolf-filled forest, food slowly running out as I work my way down i...

Re: The Ignorance Of Crowds: Why Open Development Is Crap
“Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.” Ah, so true. Which explains the solid half of the comments which view the article as being against any sort of community input, as opposed to the open development it's lambasting in the first place. The pr...

yaay! Been waiting for the update for a while, glad it came! No mean to annoy anyone, couldn't find any topic related to my question. It's highly...

Eh, I say give it ten years. Think it's too dark and lights will come on, never get cold because your clothes won't ever let you, and the box will be owned by the burger companies so they know where to send food before people know they need it.
The modern age sucks. Too much work.

Re: Better Than Starting Manned (Flower's WIP KSP mod )
Congratulations! I may have missed this, but the FAR version is discontinued? For now it's just being put off until FC decides that's the way he wants to go in terms of an aerodynamics model - so for all intents an purposes I suppose it is. Speaking of which; was the change to how ISP affects thrus...

I'm not sure if I should be happy that my idea was so good it was already part of the game, or sad that it doesn't really help and the difference isn't actually noticeable.FlowerChild wrote: They already do actually :)

Re: Better Than Starting Manned (Flower's WIP KSP mod )
So, what we're largely coming down to in what I feel it really brings to gameplay is the value of nosecones and other aero parts, which I think does great things for balancing the value of various branches in the tech tree, making for more interesting node purchase choices. The addition of fairings...

Re: Better Than Starting Manned (Flower's WIP KSP mod )
On the FAR thing; That makes a lot of sense. Not much more to say really :p Yeah, that's fair enough man. With few exceptions, I don't think this has been a clear cut thing for anyone, which echoes my own feelings on it. It's probably one of the toughest design decisions I've had to make over the p...

Yay http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/6228/6h69.png This was my first real experience with a non-kerban atmosphere, and...a lot happened. To begin with, I needed to design a landing module with >4500 electrical charge. This was...rather difficult - since a lot of the structural pieces have a rather h...
