Re: What is BWF?
I've been following this conflict silently for some time now, but as a matter of conscience, it is important that I take the time to voice my support. I have been hesitant to do so both because I try to post only if I think what I have to say contributes positively to the discussion and because I do...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
As cool as the sequel idea would be, is it worth all the extra maintenance? Those hellish updates where you had to fix *everything* would be twice as bad, and you losing your desire to maintain either mod would be tragic. If you're confident that it won't be an issue, I'm all for the sequel mod :) ...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
One other "sub-option" I'll mention that I've been considering. If I go the Return To Home route, I've been considering an option that will allow players to just start there. So, for those of you that have developed worlds that you want to hold onto, you can do so, and for those that just...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
I favor total conversion. Return to Home leaves a portion of the game subject to Mojang's changes, a portion which anyone starting fresh will have to navigate. I worry that this would either consume development time, or, if ignored, compromise the sense of coherency that makes Better Than Wolves so ...

Re: Oh Boy! Mojang at it again!
Total Conversion Gotcha. I'm searching around now for just what it means for a mod to be a total conversion, and it seems the going explanation is that it fundamentally alters the way the Minecraft world works. However, I do not think I grasp what a total conversion of BTW would entail. Why might p...

Re: Better Than Multiplay Server
To update, start with a vanilla install of the most recent version of Minecraft. Get a copy of minecraft_server.jar and follow the instructions to patch it to Better Than Wolves . Then you'll need to FTP into your server (you can use FileZilla or something). Go to "View FTP Details" under ...

Re: Better With 'Gators [Discussion]
If there were one mob I would like to see added to the game, it would be alligators. I like the "Gator Cavalry" concept. It seems like it could really add something to gameplay, and your ideas for the mechanics of it seem reasonable -- if you want to convince the gator to go long distances...
