Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of March 18th)
Any thoughts on doing a SMP for this test release? Your talk of specialized roles seems like this should be plumbed out while you're still tweaking.

Re: Benanov's Inhospitable Wasteland - CLOSED / Deep Freeze
Is it possible that with the addition of the iron nuggets in BTW, my earlier suggestion of filtering iron out of dirt or gravel could now become valid? I ask simply because I would hate to see BWR die out. That discussion is still plausible, yes. We had some neat ideas but we'll have to revisit the...

Re: Benanov's Inhospitable Wasteland (BTW 4.56 / BWR 0.26)
I'm okay with derailing this thread a bit Wibbles - but note that Wasteland is on 4.56. If you have that version I don't mind whitelisting you so you can see what TaterBoy has built.
If you don't have that version...FC frowns upon distributing old versions. I can post a world download though.

Re: Which is harder: Desert or Tundra?
Well, I did a desert-only server...so do Tundra, it's less plumbed out.
Desert is actually pretty easy once you conquer it.

If you want recipe support without the cheaty bits, try Uristqwerty's CraftGuide. It JUST lists recipes and supports BTW. (It also supports BWR, but that's kind of undocumented.)

Re: Hardcore Sheep color crossing/mutations: problem?
There are two basic strategies to use when you're making colored sheep. The first is the "shotgun method" - you need to use the law of large numbers to get mutations. If you have a pile of white sheep, just breed them like clockwork every 5 minutes. Once you get a couple of mutations, pull...

Corner Stairs. Upside-down stairs. Cobble walls. Item Frames (easy way to label a chest). Potatoes / Carrots.
On my vanilla server we use the anvil a lot, but I haven't ever made one, even as ammo, in BTW.

Re: Better With Renewables v0.25 for BTW 4.52 SMP
Has anyone here ever successfully set up a BWR server on a Mac? I would like to know if it is possible before I devote a lot time into such an endeavor. Edit: I know that it may not be my place, but I would like to offer an idea in respect to the problem of attaining iron. Don't click if you wish n...

We've got a problem.
BWR as it is ends at 4.56. FC's changes to golems mean that villages won't get iron golems naturally. This means...no iron farms from golems - so no ingots pre-crucible for Skyblock. Crucible requires Stoked Flame for both creation and operation (kiln to make, stoked to use), and Stoked Flame requir...

Re: Platforms destroy *very* quickly
Come to think of it, having a block that drops all connected scaffolding when one block of it is destroyed would be a perfect complement to the new sub block placement rules. Build your scaffolding out of something more expensive than dirt, bonus is that you can climb on it and knock it down fast w...

Re: Benanov's Inhospitable Wasteland (BTW 4.56 / BWR 0.26)
Sounds fine to me. There's a 'thing' in the server admin communities where if no one sees anyone on they assume the server's dead. That was one of the nucraftd plugins I wanted Warr to write - a message that tells the last player when someone last signed on.

Re: Half of my house cleanly shaved and gone
Have your friend look for filesystem corruption. If that's not the problem then minecraft itself reverted the chunk. Minecraft is not exactly known to be written in such a way that ensures safe writes...I've run up against a couple of bugs with this when we did some funny stuff with player files &am...

Re: Render player/zombie heads into skulls with stoked cauld
All that does is give you a higher skull drop rate, effectively. "Give a useless item a use" is not exactly a good reason to do something. The completionist in me doesn't like that, but it's okay. There are many uses of the heads. I think they prevent spawns... Native Americans used every ...

Re: Logic's Non-magical Wolves add-on[WIP]
Quick question: How the heck do you put your code into the wolves without removing their pooping, and without having a complicated install like BWR? You cannot distribute any of FC's code. Other than that, it looks good. Wolves need a change. Sargunster seemed to have found a way. BWR is complicate...

I'm not sure you can with the Windows .exe version. You could manually run the .jar but that would be a pain to set up.

Re: Benanov's Inhospitable Wasteland (BTW 4.56 / BWR 0.26)
This isn't going to be pretty. Upgraded to 4.56. Bring plenty of food. Expect it to be faster to build the road than cross the wastes on foot.
