Re: [1.5.2] [4.8911] Biomes O' Plenty 0.1.0 - BTW Edition

Having some trouble installing BOP. The latest patcher (0.1.0), for some reason, is causing MC Patcher to throw an error. The 0.9.0 patcher worked fine for me and I was playing BTW 4.891 just fine on it. I've got the output log from MC Patcher below if it helps with debugging. Also tried without the...

Re: Leviathan (Biomes O' Plenty) Better Than Solo [BTW 4.891

I'd like to apply to be whitelisted please. I've heard a lot of good things about the original server and now this server with BOP installed has perked my interest enough to make me want to come out of the closet and want to try multiplayer MC for the first time. No idea how much you really want to ...

Re: Trap Doors: Have I gone too far?

I agree that the change *is* far better from a logical POV that trapdoors don't respond to a redstone signal, and it feels more immersive. I just wish it didn't have to break my beloved twin cow masher towers that I'd more or less completed a week ago. A bit meh, but I'll fix it one of these days wh...

A bit late, but have a belated happy birthday. :)

Also -- saw this and thought of you.

I'd buy it if it wasn't for the fact that I have no idea where you live and wouldn't want that information either :P

Wow! Nice job. Loving the crates especially, kind of wants me to be able to display them on a shelf or something a la Skyrim - I have this vision of a dock area or warehouse where you can display all the stuff you have in crates and barrels... but I'll stop there :) If anything though, I'd say the s...

Re: Skeleton, oh how I hate you! [Death Stories]

Urgh. Twice now I have underestimated the power of a skeleton in water. Out of arrows although leathered up and emboldened by finding a sword with good durability retrieved from an ex-zombie, I thought the skeleton blocking the way to my bridge would be easy prey. It was standing in the shallow wate...

Re: Creeper oyster chemistry. (release thread spoilers)

Diamond can actually react with molten iron (sciency bit here ). Considering you make diamond ingots on a crafting grid with no real source of heat (hence a crucible would have made more sense, but... yeah, tech tree), my theory is that the creeper oysters contain a vast amount of heat able to melt ...

Re: MC Patcher Features Broken By BTW 4.68

All is well again. MCPatcher 3.1.0-beta4 fixed compatibility with BTW, and I haven't detected any problems thus far. I'd still heed the beta warnings and backup everything first before using it, though. Nice one Kahr :)

Re: New Release! (BTW 4.69)

I have a pretty high end system (AMD FX 6300, Radeon 6950). You'd have thought I would have had no issue with MC performance, but in fact it was playable but "jagged", and there were often moments when the game froze for a second whilst I was inching past lava and I ended up in lava as a r...

http://i.imgur.com/Xc47pG5.png?1 Functionally they seem to work just fine and the hit boxes are in the right place, but they definitely don't look right. Putting them together seems to have some kind of weird connected texture effect, but not always. I'm getting isolated fence shapes, full blocks, ...

For pig breeding, use Kibble. Not entirely sure if pigs are attracted to it though, I've honestly never tried.

edit: nothing to do with potatoes whatsoever, so more of a "if you can't find carrots either" response :)

Just MCPatcher (and all it's included mods e.g. connected textures). Have been procrastinating about installing Six's better item map frames and will likely install that too very soon.

P.S. And yeah, creepers would have to be exempt, as they only betray their presence when you hear the ssssss right behind you. Not necessarily true, as whilst they don't make any mob specific noise themselves apart from the hiss, you can sometimes hear them depending on the surface they're walking ...

Re: MCpatcher_Texture Pack + BTW

It looks like you're trying to install a texture pack via MCPatcher. If that's the case: don't do that. Drop the texture pack .zip into the minecraft directory as described here: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Texture_Packs#Installing_a_Texture_Pack MCPatcher only provides the ability to use a te...

It'd never clicked until now why they called the bar "The Blue Oyster". So thank you especially for that moment of revelation.

I'm not entirely sure in which release this might have changed, but I've noticed that walking (or sprinting) on farmland no longer reverts it to dirt. Jumping still does though.

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion

Are cows only eaten by zombies? Or are the skellies in on the action too? I had a lit-up cow pasture for all my lactation needs, fenced off but not spider proof. I had built it, lured a couple of cows in, waited for the night. Cows appeared safe, zombies were sticking to the fence but all they could...

Re: 4.65 Spoiler Discussion

I noticed a funny thing. I had reached the second night in a new world, and had found a hidey hole some way up a mountain, where I had a pretty good view over the valley below me. I had plonked down a furnace and a crafting table and was sorting out some meat to cook when I heard a BOOM from below; ...

Hey, FlowerChild, thank you for yet another awesome release. This one is epic. Thanks man, I appreciate that. Re: 4.65 Balance Observations and Discussion (SPOILERS)

I find the bow is far too durable compared to the rest of the early game tools, considering it's made from 3 sticks and some string. It never breaks; I find I have enough dropped bows from skeletons to repair it so I never have to craft another one. I am actually using it more than I do the iron swo...

This is so true; it's quite easy to put a PC together. The challenging bit is finding the right components for your needs for a good price :)
