Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)

FC, go with what you feel best. You've shown, time and time again, to have pretty damn solid judgement (which is especially impressive to me now I've seen more the frustrations you've had to deal with - I thought the ongoing API debacle was bad enough, but to have a preliminary version of Home worki...

Re: What are you reading?

I've had Nostromo (Joseph Conrad) on the go for a while now - great book, but I keep getting sidetracked to other material - the most recent distraction being Bad Pharma, by Ben Goldacre (who, incidentally, I met on Wednesday, and is awesome).

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 12th)

@tedium

Arguably it makes sense to not have the slowdown effect when growing in planters though (as is already the case afaik) as they're discrete units.

Re: Small question on endermen.

I'm pretty sure they can teleport to vine traps. I've seen what I think must be them doing so in my enderman farm (what seems to happen they drop into 1 deep water from considerable height - 90% of the time they're killed outright, but occasionally they survive and warp to, then fall back to their d...

Re: My texture pack mix (32x)(Update 1.4 - 4.31b) Fixed zomb

Using square images seems to fix the zombie pigmen issues I've (and I imagine others) been having too. Glad that it looks to be a trivial fix, rather than requiring I spend my weekend throwing stuff at the wall in GIMP and seeing what sticks, when I should instead be doing things for the degree.

Re: My texture pack mix (32x)(Update 1.4 - 4.31b) Fixed zomb

@Battosay (and anyone else having issues with the zombie textures)

I'm pretty sure the fix for the issue is to enough blank space to the bottom of the image to make it square (ie making it 128x128 rather than 128x64). I suspect it'll extend to the problems I'm having with zombie pigmen too.

Re: Map Seeds

I'm using 1786982842, with large biomes switched on. You'll start in a sizable taiga biome, with a mushroom biome fairly reachable nearby - just travel (East, I think) along the coast. Villagers require a huge trek however. If you want to find a stronghold, you'll need to be prepared to sail a reall...

Re: Show us your builds!

Right, regarding releasing the pack - a few textures have been cut as the artist makes it very clear over at MCF that they do not want it redistributed - I've just replaced them with the standard JohnSmith's ones as he seems to be happy about re-use provided there's no money being made. I need to me...

I've been playing since 1st ED You play 40k :D You just get better and better. I haven't been playing anywhere near that long (I'm not old enough to have been for starters) but love the hobby and the lore behind it. I'm a Dark Angels successor chapter player myself, and am thus driving myself insan...

Re: Show us your builds!

@HappyDyas Bits of it are earlier textures from his pack that I've reworked. Bits are lifted from various other packs I've seen around. Some of the newer textures I've practically drawn myself, and then there are a few sections that I have no idea where they came from. Pretty sure there's a little b...

@Anamirian

I'm using JohnSmith's that I've edited quite a bit, so it's diverged from the much darker style his pack has taken on as of late.

Re: Show us your builds!

That is absolutely amazing. As Batto said, what kept you from posting until now?! These things don't build themselves xD More seriously, two days into term my venerable old HP dv6 threw a bigger wobbler than I'm used too and so whilst I've NOW got a lovely shiny new toy, I had a good month of being...

Thanks, I've added a few more screencaps and information in the last few minutes. Enjoy.

EDIT: And that's high praise indeed coming from you Battosay :D You, Etho and CNB are the trio of YouTubers that I love to watch build and take a lot of inspiration from.

Re: Show us your Nether Builds!

Seeing as the Nether Hub got a pretty good reaction, here's my Overworld vault system. It's very extensive so I don't come out other than to get clay and to do the mad dash back inside after going to the End.

Re: Show us your Nether Builds!

This is my Nether hub. The core of it is a pigman drop trap. The ugly great lump off to the side is my ghast spawner/trap/safe killing zone thing. Surrounding the fall trap shaft (the pigmen are moved into it by pistons so all the drops end up in a 3x3 zone despite spawning pads that must be over 20...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 23rd)

I'm a long time lurker, but now seems an appropriate time to introduce myself. I've come to see Better than Wolves as Minecraft, not an addition tacked on the side. It's so well integrated into the game, and takes it to levels Mojang really should have done (meaning I simply can't play vanillia thes...
