Re: Block Dispenser gives out redstone signal when empty

itamarcu wrote:So maybe it would transfer MECHANICAL energy?
That would solve it.
Although transforming that into a redstone signal is a bit tricky...

The problem then of course is that you can just place a BD and have it output mechanical power. In effect it would replace the waterwheel.

Re: Block Dispenser gives out redstone signal when empty

Chicken farming led me to this idea. It's not a new block ID, it fits with BTW (hopper does the reverse), and could be useful for automation purposes. Useful yes but it could get in the way since BD's are powered via redstone already while the hopper is powered via mech. power. The output could be ...

Re: Combining mods - Tech Progression and Gameplay

I feel like these changes are good restrictions for BTW -> IC2, what do you think about BTW -> BC? I was thinking requiring hafts for wooden gears, but that doesn't feel right. Thoughts?

Re: Combining mods - Tech Progression and Gameplay

Just playtested the entrance into IC2 stuff, one thing that seems off is that you can get generators (including solar), wires, batboxes, and solar panels without ever having to create a crucible in BTW (only needing concentrated hellfire). Unfortunately this means that you can even get the mining d...

Re: Combining mods - Tech Progression and Gameplay

Hey, just wanted to tell you that while it does work using the regular furnace, neither the iron or the electric furnace will accept this. I too have been working on this and think I came up with a nice compromise: I decided to make the Machine Block out of both Soulforged Steel AND Refined Iron li...

Re: BTW Functional Builds

This is my auto-tree harvester. It runs automatically, but can also be used with bonemeal for when I eventually find that skeleton spawner. http://i.imgur.com/vBtHZ.png This is the basic set up, sapling in front of five BD, with a BD on the side, and a DB on the other side one block up. When the sap...

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

Didn't someone post in another thread a mod that add this rope, you can even attach to arrows and shoot them up mountains to climb? I don't know if it is compatible with BTW though, but if it is, doesn't it do exactly what you want? Yeah, there is a zipline mod which basically what I'm looking for,...

I think the "block mob spawning" feature that the player has need not apply to the decoy, I think simply a mob spawner activator/chunk force loader would be sufficient.

Re: Epic setting in next release :)

Oh boy, maybe I shouldn't have said anything :) Again guys, we're talking about a very SIMPLE change to vanilla gameplay here that I think just has very interesting ramifications. Don't get too pumped up :) Too late! What time zone are you in FC, if you don't mind me asking? I'm curious whether &qu...

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

Well, I think the OP is trying to say that all of the stuff in this mod either takes time to build, or is permanent. For instance, you can only take the rope from above - so you must return to the spot to retrieve it, hence it is not possible to make one-time trips. A way to pull the rope from behi...

Re: Epic setting in next release :)

I am extremely excited, and wanted to say how pumped I am for this, but I couldn't in the thread.

I was just about to go with my combo-mod game and start building IC2 stuff, but I'm holding off on that until I can experience what FC has in store here.

I have no idea what it might be though.

How does equivalent exchange help?
you can easily use it to change mobs into other mobs.

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

My point is, engage brains before replying, we all know what FC has written in the past about grappling hooks, so there's no need to bring them up yet again. Actually, I get the impression most people don't know what I've written about them in the past, as the last time I said anything about them (...

Re: BTW Functional Builds

I like the auto urn machine, mabye I could implement it into my hellforge... I just modified it by surrounding the turntable on most sides with dirt/cobble, so when the next clayblock gets placed all the clay pieces are pushed off to a specific side, where they fall into the hopper. Now no wasted m...

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

Thinking about it, If I wanted to climb a mountain in the near future, an unexplored one, I would take rope and materials for building ladders. The other things I would take have no relevance in Minecraft - Ice picks, crampons, rope hooks etc. Perhaps the idea here is actually a way to retrieve rop...

Re: Annoying and repetitive task ?

Well, as no one's mentioned it, I'm guessing I'm missing something stupid. But after standing in my mill waiting for it to grind up netherrack and changing the soul sand filter every 4-5 hellfire for over 3 stacks' worth, I'd be interested to know if there was a way to automate this. mechanically p...

Re: A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

Why would you explore? there is really not alot to find that aren't around your starting zone (unless you like finding Awesome bioms, but you can allways use creative mod for that). Looking for wolves, looking for pine trees, looking for cool map features, finding huge oceans, NPC villages, there w...

A way of more easily exploring late tech-tree

One of the things I think is lacking in minecraft, and also BTW is an ability to explore more easily later in the tech tree. After getting all these steel tools and machines that can do awesome things, the need to still carrying dirt blocks or mar the landscape with ladders just seems so inefficient...

Re: Ocean Transports / Cargo Haulers

I think "I need a way to move bases across water huge distances" would meet FC's recently articulated request for suggestions. It presents a problem, that can't really be accomplished in an "automated way" and could fit in with the general scheme of BTW. In general the longer you...

Just thought I'd set up a place for us to display our functional creations (as opposed to aesthetic ones). Re: Combining mods - Tech Progression and Gameplay

Maybe if you could it would be very useful to make instructions on how to make this modifications, and a list of recipes. Something easier to read, with pictures and all. Sure, I mentioned earlier in the thread that I was using zombe's mod pack in order to do this, the 1.8.1 version of course: http...
