Re: Why we need RTH now more then ever
... some really sad stuff... Just wanted to say i read this and nearly cried. I truly feel for you FC. Despite what the internet trolls think, you are and an amazing person with a big enough heart to slosh through the waves of shit to keep your work open to the public. I personally know what consta...

Re: Question on addon Development
Might as well post here instead of starting a new thread...
Is there any way to make an addon recipe cook before a BTW recipe in the cauldron/crucible?
Right now I'm trying to make a recipe that involves cooking flour, raw eggs, and raw chicken together, but the egg/flour cooks first.

Question on addon Development
Hey guys, i recently started working on a small addon for BTW that adds a few little things, like more foods, new millstone and kiln recipies, and small things like that. My question comes from the fact that i modded block.class to add more hooks, like the kiln dropping blocks instead of items. Can ...

Re: My "Thoughts" on extending block ID's
Sweet, got it to work. :P now time to learn java the best way there is: to mess around with stuff and see where it fails. XD based half my knowledge of C# off of that. :P

Cool, I think I may even have a version of Eclipse kicking around. Now just to figure out how to load the MCP stuff in.

Re: My "Thoughts" on extending block ID's
:P thanks FC. I am trying my hardest not to sound like an idiot. XD. Maybe I need to learn for myself. Can either of you recommend a good editor to use with MCP? right now I'm using notepad which is a pain in the ass. I'd like to learn more Java and maybe even develop an addon myself, but am unsure ...

My "Thoughts" on extending block ID's
Sorry if the following post sounds like it's from a 3-year old who was dropped one to many times, I'm not at my best, but here goes: One of the issues with modding Minecraft, especially with a mod as big as BTW, is that you quickly run out of block ID's. As a somewhat n00b programmer, I realize that...

my BTW misconceptions
Hey, I was just playing BTW for the first time in a while, and I got myself a little confused about features. First off, does water dripping through cobblestone turn it into mossy cobble? Or am I just crazy? Secondly, do blazes spawn on any nether brick or just in the fortresses? Any help would be a...

Question on HCS
Hey, I was thinking about starting to use Hardcore Spawn, but I'd like to know a little bit more about it first. For one, is there a certain range around the original spawn that you spawn at? Or is it just somewhere in the world? Secondly, is the range extended with large biomes, or is it the same. ...

Re: Hardcore spawn in SSP - your experiences
That is one reason I think HCS improves BTW, it involves you more with your world. One way to remember where your base is with HCS is to actually draw your own map on a piece of paper, and keep it by your computer. This is the kind of thing that excites me. You now have a reason to make something pe...

Hehe, got into the code space did you? :P Great news to hear that things are going well for you! Your success gave me the last-minute motivation to meet my deadline! I thoroughly enjoy your dev diary, as I've said before. It's neat that you provide insight on the process of making a kick-ass mod. If...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 23rd)
Ah, probably good to keep in mind :P What type of formatting do you personally use? Also, I hate how MCP just name the variables in methods and stuff by numbers, like var0, var1, var2, etc... I always make sure that the variable names describe what their use is. ps: Finally one of my inspirations th...

Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve
Mostly just for decoration :P The only reason that I didn't chop his head off and stick him on a stake in the lawn was the fact that I'm really slow to make new friends. And we had family over... But... there will be time to rebuild. I shall build a new, better fortress. If there's one thing that th...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 23rd)
Ah, I see, it's almost like a whole different language :P. That's why I prefer to stay away from modding. If you create your own code the it's much easier to understand, and you're not forced into situations that you don't want to be in (unless your code fails :( ). Also, everyone has a different id...

Re: Tales of Woe: how has a feature of BTW killed your steve
Not sure if it's unacceptable to bump things on the second page, but here's my story: I recently spent many weeks building a fortified city surrounding a small village. I had a massive workshop, huge hemp farms, a mechanical power distribution system, and 5x5x5 platform gates in every entrance. And ...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of October 23rd)
I just wanted to let you know that you're a huge inspiration to me. It used to be Notch, but I'm pretty sure you bested him through and through. Also, reading your dev diaries usually makes me want to dive head first in my own code, more so than a morning coffee. Oh, and I suppose I should say that ...

Fertilizer
With the addition of hardcore explosives, we now have brimstone, which is actually sulfur. Sulfur is great for explosives, but it also has another use: fertilizer. Today, some fertilizer is created from sulfur by mixing it with calcium, creating calcium sulfate. Maybe replace bonemeal with a new mix...
