I didn't mean that you tinker with the ressources.
For diamonds you need a cave that goes down there. What if there is no appropriate cave system? That is what I meant. It's only a slight chance, but nuclear plants also only have a tiny chance of blowing up. They do so nevertheless.

Using the MCDungeon Generator might be a pretty neat idea, as long as you give the dungeons a second pass and add apropriate loot to the chests. They are basically the only way to mark a way over water in relative safety now.

I have a nice view over an ocean from a hightened position, but have yet to see any squishy squid.
I'm not sure if that is of any consequence, but there are no animals around the area anymore. Either eaten by me or zombies.

You're being rude and presuming.
Following the logic you use, you are not using hardcore spawn, as the feature prevents the use of dying as bed substitude.

BTW is a lot about progression in power and possibilities, so early on it will be mushroom farms, hunting and maybe some eggs from chickens, if you don't want to starve :)
