Re: Installing BTW on Mac OS X using terminal only

Thanks a bunch. I was finally wanting to update my BTW install after having not done so in quite a while, and had forgotten how I did it last time through command line. For anyone just looking to update an existing BTW install over a previous existing version, you only really need to use the jar com...

Re: BTW Research Add-On v1.1 - Learning the gameplay way

Thanks for the kind words, I'm glad to hear some people have been enjoying it. I plan to release an update once the final update for BTW drops, to incorporate all the changes and guide it right through to the end of the mod. I'll be sure to put some time aside the next week or two so that I can try ...

Re: Show us your builds!

@Six could you please explain the wiring for your autokiln, or could you please post pictures? I'm trying to reduce redstone use (and space since I'm building underwater) and yours is much more compact, and I cannot figure it out from the picture you have currently. It mostly works through voodoo a...

Re: Show us your builds!

My first post is going into my favorite thread! Two build of a technical nature I've done that I thought were worth showing. These two are pics of my Auto Kiln/Turntable design. The block dispenser at the back sets the number of rotations before the double piston pushes the block behind the glass i...

First Episode of my "BTW Tutorials" Series. I was going through the "Show your Builds" thread and thought I'd share some of the designs with you! First Bellows Design is inspired by Itamarcu. Sorry about my rambling at somepoints, this is a new format that I need to get used to ...

Re: Share Your Epic Fails

So I had two great moments the other day. Moment one: I was in the process of teching up, had just assembled my kiln and had a single hibachi under it. One hibachi goes mighty slow though, so I decide I should make another. I run over to my nether goods chest, grab some netherrack and throw it in th...

I hadn't even considered the fact they break that consistency. I feel they would have been better off reversing that, making bars 2x2 and keeping the logic between door / trapdoor shapes.

Re: Show us your builds!

I looks like the items fall into the second crucible from the kiln. Nice job, btw, six! Yup, and the lever next to it is to turn on or off the hibachi under it. Useful for processing endstone to whitestone, but needs to be turned off if doing any baked goods (except for when cooking the hardest mat...

Re: Better than Wolves videos - Group Multiplayer

I've also got a general question for anyone reading this thread. I currently have a bit of a backlog of videos. I've currently scheduled 3 a week, but would you rather see four to clear it out a bit faster? I'm tentatively thinking (Tues, Thur, Sat, Sun) but only if you don't think it'll be too man...

Re: Boats and Squids

FC does have a realistic point here. If you are out in (let's say) the ocean during a thunderstorm, then you're fucked unless you can get to safety, as you are the tallest thing in the water, and lightning is attracted to the closest ground (electrically speaking). So, an easy way to make BTW more ...

Re: Trapped with Ghasts

Yeah, this is surprisingly a lot easier with ghasts that are good shots. The other option if you have any wood on you is to try and make a trail of burnables to the portal, such that the side of a block next to the portal catches fire.

Good luck, and look forward to hearing how it turns out.

well this is what i tried. I tried to adapt :) I drank a regeneration potion and wore plate armor and allowed my hoofed friend to do his worst. He hugged me over and over again until my chestplate was almost worn down. He slowed a bit, but other than that, nothing. I tried slapping a saddle on his ...

Should I record another series? Should I keep the same style? Should I continue focus on the coop series I have going? Aye, but is it meant to be a rare drop on top of a rare spawn? I've had several instances of killing a witch and not getting any warts.

No drops when killing a witch feels disappointing

With how rare they are, I can't help but try to hunt a witch down when I see one appear in my swamp, but it really ends up feeling like an anticlimax when all they drop is xp.

Animals trying to desperately jump over fences

Hey, I've noticed this for a while now but I want to nail down the exact nature of it. What I'm seeing is animals I have penned in walking up to the fences and bouncing for several seconds as if they are trying to jump over. The problem only seems to occur when using fences made from molding (i.e. s...

Re: Allocating enough memory for minecraft

It is possible you've hit on a vanilla bug a few other people have had, where an entity (like an animal or mob) has somehow ended up with many (hundreds of) duplicates. Can you open your map file with MCedit and check to see if there are a bunch of entities in one spot?

Re: BTW Research Add-On v1.1 - Learning the gameplay way

Thanks for the info Epsilon, I thought that might be the case. Craftguide generally doesn't actually need updating as it creates the recipe list dynamically, but I guess 'overlapping' recipes can throw it off. I'll need to specifically replace the plank recipe which is easy enough. I was planning on...

I find if you're dead set on getting back to your "main base" you'll find yourself rushing through the early game and dying repeatedly, getting frustrated and ragequitting. IMO, it has to be taken slowly and enjoyed. The sooner you accept you're not getting back any time soon, the more fu...

I also like the interesting consistency across aggressive mob drops now, with most having their standard drops and a rare drop which can be used in potion makin...
