A new update?
With performance optimization?
Excellent.
Thanks, FC, for paying attention to the little things that make playing the game smoother for us. These details are much appreciated.

Re: FTL: Faster Than Light
Oh, cool.
I remember reading an article on this game in one of my brother's PC Gamer mags when I was visiting last month. It seemed like a pretty good game from the review.
With endorsements from this forum, I'll have to check it out now. :)

Re: Hmm. Soulforged Steel.
Well personally I think the vanilla enchanting system just makes the game to easy especially after what they did to it recently. I was thinking I might just remove it. Hmmm...I don't know. While I agree that the vMC enchanting system leaves much to be desired in its implementation, I'd rather see a...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
Vegetarian MC players inspiring feature change? Excuse me while I go kick a few more puppies to right the cosmic balance. Yeah, that's kinda how I felt about it. Who knows if this is the actual case, of course, but I have seen the "I don't want to kill the animals" type of arguments at MC...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
Why would they have to kill cows? There's bread and melons to eat already and carrots and potatoes coming! So much food... XD Well, I think they were talking more about the leather for that. My point was that the pie apparently satisfies as much hunger as cooked meat, and none of the other plant fo...

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
that it stacks to 64, restores as much health as cooked beef and is made really really easily...not even needing a crafting table... I have a feeling that this is a concession to the vegetarian players out there, I shit you not. I remember reading a thread over at MCF (the one about not wanting boo...

Re: [Le Sigh...] I am an goober-guy
Just to add my two cents to this discussion: On your mental state: Life sucks, priorities shift, and burn-out is a real thing. There is nothing wrong with taking time off of some things to focus on others that may be more important at the moment. Case-in-point: me. My RL is a bit wonky at the moment...

Re: New Release! (BTW V4.11)
You alone are working to make this game into the dream game I had visions and the expectations that I had of vMC when I first saw it! x2 on this. I can't really imagine playing Minecraft without BtW anymore. Another excellent update--I can't wait until RL settles down and I can get some play time w...

Is there a technical reason for that? Because it seems like a bit of an exploit.

Re: Disappearing Gearbox
In case you don't know, you can save some space for moving around in your machines if you surround it with moulding/siding instead of full blocks, they don't burn either. Really, they don't? Is there a technical reason for that? Because it seems like a bit of an exploit. EDIT: Oops, nvm, somewhat n...

Re: Problem creating a Blood Wood Sapling
I'm not really familiar with that texture pack, but are you sure that is nether wart SEEDS and not the actual crop? I'm not sure if there is any legitimate way to obtain the crop itself, but from your pic it does look more like the plant. Just started up a new world with TMI and confirmed that the ...

Wow. Just wow. I've been away and without internet for the past few weeks, and I return to see a slew of update threads, a "1.3 Developer Blog" thread, and now a v. 4.0 with added SMP release? I am in awe. FC, you are a machine. Thanks so much for what had to have been a Herculean effort o...

Wow, I just got caught up on all the posts and it seems like I missed a really interesting discussion (I'm traveling right now and my Internet access/time is a bit limited). It may be past this point, but I've been thinking about something for the past few days or so, so I guess I'll add my 2 cents ...

Re: Your Design Time (Tools and Thoughts)
-awesomeness- This post is gold. I really need to get better at the second point, myself. I tend to do preliminary design with graph paper and pencil, then tweak in-game. I very rarely use creative (flying is hard to control, insta-breaking pisses me off, the inventory is weird), and if I do, it's ...

Re: Finding the new Soulforged Steel Block property
Edit: I do remember that FC had put the Earth Pentacle of the Hermatic Order of the Golden Dawn (as found by RezDev I believe, or MinerN8 or somthing similar on the MCF), so maybe that is the tradition that FC follows. (?) We're the same guy, just different usernames. :) And @matty79321, since you ...

Re: My single problem with BTW.
Wow, so many topics...my thoughts are all criss-crossed amongst them... :) I, personally, love the direction this mod is taking for a good number of reasons, but the one relevant to this thread is the inclusion of real elements of the occult into the Minecraft/BtW magical system. The reason for this...

Hi, everyone, RezDev here, also known as MinerN8 over at MCF. First off, I'd like to say thanks to FC and Urian for letting me be able to participate in the discussion here. Anyway, I've already laid out my interpretation of the information at hand at MCF, but I'll quote it again here for posterity....

Re: Direwolf Railcraft Portal Thingy
Yeah, I like watching his series because he does come up with some interesting ways to put pieces together, but the teleport stuff is a bit OP. I like what I've seen of Railcraft (it's one of the few other mods out there that I think adds something cool to the game; BTW+Railcraft would be epic IMO),...

So let's see...A possible theme for drawings could be: Beasts of Mythology (Doesn't matter which myths, be it Greek, Mayan, Indian.) I figure that will give us a very broad canvas on which to paint, as there are surely thousands of such monsters spread across every culture. OK, I'll bite. Unfortuna...

Re: Mod compatibility and connected textures questions
My next question is... I'm running MCPatcher 2.3.6_03 and I have the connected textures mod checked, but I've never actually seen a connected texture work. I've tried several tex packs which have the CTM texture file (the internal textures, Sphax, Panda's doku continuation, the rustic pack), but al...
