Re: New Release! (BTW 4.65) [*** NO SPOILERS ***]

Flowerchild, this release is awesome. So awesome it has prompted me to start a new world. I love that all the recent changes extend the period in which survival is an actual challenge, but still manageable if you are cautious. Snip for spoilers - FlowerSo thank you, good sir!

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week Of Jan 14th)

This may not be the appropriate place for this, but I feel that I need to say it. Over the past month with all of the drama surrounding the mod, I was truly fearing for the future of BTW. It really took away my desire to play MC at all. I love BTW and the past month has really confirmed for me that ...

Re: Wheat distribution timing question

You could possibly eliminate the BDs using the pulsed method I describe by having the pulse open each piston. Have the piston open the slot as the wheat reaches it, then wait some amount of time and open the next and so on and so forth. It will cost some redstone, but that's essentially free once yo...

Re: Wheat distribution timing question

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, but what is the benefit of making this variable timing setup over just slowing the first dispenser down. You only need 2 wheat per breeding pair every five minutes. So unless things are really spread out you should be within that limit no problem. EDIT: You coul...

Re: Bellows only stokes up to 2 blocks away instead 3

Wow, I derped pretty hard on this one. Apparently the lever that powered that hibachi must have gotten knocked off at some point.

I feel pretty silly. Thanks for checking that out though. Made it much easier to determine it was on my end.

Feel free to lock this one down.

Bellows only stokes up to 2 blocks away instead 3

So I ran into an issue yesterday with redstone not synthesizing in a stoked crucible and brushed it off. However, today I noticed that my 4 kiln setup is only working at 3/4 capacity. My conclusion is that the bellows is only stoking hibachis up to two blocks in front of it instead of the usual thre...

Re: Windmill not spinning or providing power

ok, this is just weird. I took to the windmill and moved it and it worked fine. So I went back to the original structure and replaced it, but it was still not working. I checked above it to ensure there was nothing blocking its view of the sky, but nothing was there. Finally, I thought I'll just try...

Re: Windmill not spinning or providing power

No mechanical power is being produced by the windmill.

I do have a water wheel that is working fine though.

Also, as for the redstone synthesis. I moved my crucible to be right next to the bellows and now it works fine. I really thought you could have it up to 3 blocks in front of it.

Windmill not spinning or providing power

I'm currently running BTW 4.34 on MC 1.4.2. I've noticed that my original windmill in the Overworld is no longer providing power to my millstones. In fact, the windmill doesn't seem to be spinning at all. I've also noticed that I can't synthesize redstone from gold ingots and concentrated hellfire i...

Thanks, that did the trick. I never knew you could use a repeater to pull power out of a block like that.

Re: New redstone latch feature

The only problem with that in my case is that I need four pulses to the left line of redstone and one to the top line. So I can't use redstone dust to do that, unless I'm missing something.

New redstone latch feature causing issues

So I recently updated to 1.4.2 and was running out of food. So I went to my meat factory to get something to eat. To my great surprise, I discovered that it is no longer working properly. After going into the timing mechanisms I determined that this is due to the new redstone latch feature. Basicall...

Re: Chicken automation / Swimming vs nesting chickens

He did in fact say that chickens eating through blocks was an exploit just before he added the nether chickens feature. Right, if I was using that in a sorting system. No, you're using it to avoid item filtration, which is definitely an exploit, as is the chickens eating through blocks. Enjoy your v...

Re: Mooshroom Island Locator

Beyond the point that everyone else is making. IIRC, the only resources that cannot be obtained elsewhere are mycellium and mooshroom. However, you can take a silk touch pick or block dispenser to collect a block of mycellium, which can then easily convert dirt blocks to mycellium. Then stick some c...

I also ran into this problem in an old dung farm. I circumvented it through the use of a monostable circuit. But the piston thing sounds pretty straight-forward.

Re: Villager farm gone wrong+comp crash=massive lag. Help pl

Perhaps you have a corrupted chunk at the location the bug report is telling you. Maybe try backing up your save and deleting that chunk with MCedit to see if that clears up your issue.

It would be kind of awful to lose your work. So I really hope this works.

Re: Villager farm gone wrong+comp crash=massive lag. Help pl

This is just a guess, but is it possible that you still have some villagers to restart the infinite spawning that caused your issue in the first place? The symptoms you are experiencing sounds like something that would happen from breeding. In fact, I bet you can watch the number of entities in your...

Re: Villager farm gone wrong+comp crash=massive lag. Help pl

I don't have much experience with MCEdit, but I might recommend loading some of the adjoining chunks and deleting the entities in those. When you load your world you load 17X17 chunks so it could be an issue in any of those. Another thing that you could try is moving your spawn point. To see if that...
