Re: Hardcore Nether Animals Discussion (Spoilers)
When I read this thread I thought I had screwed myself over by recently moving my main netherportal closer to my pens, turns out I'm very lucky: http://i.imgur.com/Ok8trX8.png My Netherportal is in the bottom left of the picture, underneath those red rectangles are two cowpens. All the cows in pen #...

Re: Coal block
I read on the minecraft wiki that the block burns long enough to cook 80 items (9 coal would cook 72) is that correct? (haven't played with the snapshots myself)

Ah, thank you very much for the tips =)
I'll give the double fence method a try.

Vanila MC bug - keeping animals from suffocating
So, there is a bug in vanilla minecraft where (upon chunk load, I believe) animals can run into blocks and suffocate. In my current BTW-world this is starting to become a real nuisance. I'm keeping a couple of cows for their milk and cannot yet breed them, but have already lost 2 of them to this bug...

Re: Happy BTW day everyone!
/Raises glass Thanks for all the time and effort you've spend on this great mod Flowerchild. Especially the recent updates to hunger and the early game have given me a lot of fun (and torment, but in a good way =) ). Here's to Better than Wolves, the light that shines in the darkness that is Minecra...

Re: Help with vine farms
Unfortunately, there is no way to speed up those grow-rates. A one block tall vine will grow just as fast as a longer one.
The only solution AFAIK is indeed adding more saws and vines ;)

Re: No sound after install
A tip to the people that suffer from this sound-bug: When you press F3 and S, Minecraft reloads the sounds. So if you're having this problem pressing those two might fix it. (I've seen a couple of cases in which this didn't work, but if it does, it saves you the trouble of quiting and restarting the...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion
AFAIK it is so that you can have HD textures for individual blocks, when you're working with a texture sheet you'd have to change all textures in the sheet to HD to accomplish this. Well, that's pretty much the only reason I can think of...

Re: What is BWF?
Meh, after seeing a MCF-moderator actively working for a tekkit server (and advertising it in his banner) nothing surprises me anymore. I just don't understand why people are so keen on protecting each and every wish of the 'end-user', even when that goes against the most simplest of wishes of the m...

Re: What is BWF?
God, this kind of bullshit again. Sorry to hear this Flower, don't let it get to you. It's sad that the "peace" between BTW and forge has to be sacrificed like this just so the whiny masses can play with every mod at once. I'm also surprised at Slowpokes/FTB's contribution to this. I have ...

Re: Stone & stone brick sub-block textures (BTW 4.40)
Yes, this method is possible for all blocks that are added by BTW, all of them can be found in the file I named. The clay block texture you are looking for is in row 5, column 12 ;)

Re: Stone & stone brick sub-block textures (BTW 4.40)
All right, I'll just take you through it step by step. One thing that you must know however is, that when you modify a block-texture of BTW you have to update this file every time BTW adds a new block. I'll come back to this at the end of this post. First of all, you have to use a graphic editor tha...

Re: Stone & stone brick sub-block textures (BTW 4.40)
If the painterly pack does not support better than wolves, the subblocks will probably stay this way. Flowerchild probably has his reasons to change the textures he uses, so it is unlikely he will change them for uncompatible texturepacks. (My own guess, I could be wrong) In the meantime however I c...

I take it that the lag you are speaking of is permanent? I also play on a laptop and when I turn on the sound I lag as well, but after a couple of seconds that stops and I can play normally.

Re: Morvelaira's News Compilation
I don't really mind the fireworks. They will probably be a "use it once and forget it exists" item, but at least its not some kind of functionality that Mojang can fuck up. (unless it will do something like scaring away nearby mobs, fingers crossed :/ )

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of December 3rd)
I love your banquet hall FC, that is indeed some nice aesthetic use of those blocks. Also, you sound way more relaxed than a couple of weeks ago, last weeks diary took quite a load of your mind didn't it? =) Anyway, I am glad to hear you want to finish the "overworld BTW" in such a polishe...

Re: Problems with timing bellows :(
The easiest solution is placing a second torch on the cobble block that is being rotated, on the opposite side from the other torch ;)
Edit: while keeping the turntable on the third setting.

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 27th)
Well, whatever option you pick, I will be supporting you FC. So far you have not dissapointed me once (and I have been playing this mod since beta 1.6), so I will trust you on this one. My personal favorite would have been a way in which the overworld would remain accessible (in the same save), but ...

@Sarudak: I thought about that one before, but settled on my current design instead because it was easier to build. (Guess lazyness does not pay off in the long-term :P ) @Flowerchild: You make me feel so stupid TT_TT That design is easy, it avoids the problem I described and I can simply use the wa...

Re: Fire destroying items from tipped crucible
That could be an option. I have mainly used this design in my mobtrap (melting iron drops, making kibble) and since I would let those running all the time I never considered turning them off. Thing is that the machines as they are now have waterstreams running directly underneath some of the hibachi...

Fire destroying items from tipped crucible
I am having a problem with the fire on the side of stoked fire from hibachis burning the content of a tipped cauldron/crucible. (it's not as silly as it sounds ^_^' ) The full discription of this situation is quite lengthy, so the most of it is in the spoiler: The setup in which this happens is as i...

Bug with Vanilla dispenser and filled hopper
A minor bug with the vanilla dispenser in the following setup: http://i.imgur.com/8TTSp.png Note: the hopper does not need to receive mechanical power for this bug. When the inventory of the hopper is completely filled and the button is pushed, the dispenser will dispense two items out of its invent...
