Re: Zombie Pigman Spawning
I think the half slabs should take care of the ghast spawning, too. According to the wiki: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Ghast#Trivia Contrary to popular belief, Ghasts must spawn on blocks. They can't spawn on transparent blocks no matter how high the roof is. If any transparent blocks protrude...

Re: Dissapearing Hoppers
From the minecraft wiki: http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Fire#Behavior Fire can climb up walls, across floors and ceilings, and over small gaps. More precisely, a fire (or lava) block can turn any air block that is adjacent to a flammable block into a fire block. This can happen at a distance of u...

Re: Breeding Farm Help
I can't really see the placement of your animals from the pictures, so I have to take a guess. Are your animals all breed at the same time? And how far are the breeding pairs apart from each other? If yes and they are relatively close, then it's possible that they fall in love with an animal from an...

Re: Detector Block Help please =O
Ideas: 1.) You have a problem with detector blocks, then this thread should be created in the Tech Support forum. 2.) Post a url that can be accessed without having to log in to your tumblr account ( or having to fiddle with the url http://sas1214.tumblr.com ). 3.)The detector block is activated whi...

Definitely vanilla.
If the animals are standing in the fence block, when the chunk is saved, the can appear on either side of the fence on loading.

Re: updating to BTW 3.70 crash
Seems that the forge part from BTB or BTW isn't installed correctly.
Try a fresh install only with BTW, BC and BTB, then add the BC mods, if it starts without error.

Re: updating to BTW 3.70 crash
Strange, the error report clearly shows additional buildcraft objects as the culprit, but I'm running the same version without a problem.
But you could try removing it anyway, to be sure if that's the place where we have to take a closer look.

Very nice mod for your first one! :)
Instead of straps, I think padding would also make sense in the top two slots, this would also bring a bit variety in the materials used.

Re: Nest hopper filter part deux
There are issues with tweaking mob behavior that make it one of those things where you need something really big, such as a step on the tech tree or fundamental behavior in mob traps to justify the headache. Tweaking chicken outputs probably isn't one of those. I agree, the work involved definitely...

According to this article it left eache employee with $50k after tax, but I'm not sure he split it with that many employees. It sure was a nice amount of cash, but definitely not enough to make them rich or set for life.

Re: New Movie "Wreck-It Ralph"
Yeah, I wouldn't use perfect as a description either. Disney has proven that they can produce great animated movies, but imo Pixar is way better to make the movie enjoyable for viewers of any age by creating dialogue and gags that seem like innocent fun to children, but you get so much more out of t...

Re: Make mining charges set off other mining charges
While a placeable fuse sounds nice at first, I doubt it will be much faster to place a fuse all the way than to place levers or buttons on each charge and activate them. Then the only remaining benefit is to set up huge arrays that explode at the same time. And then the question remains, why not sim...

Re: Filtering Compendium
Why don't you simply edit the wiki pages for the hopper and bellows with the missing information instead of creating a new thread here, that will disappear to page 2 in a few days anyway? Dragon orbs and normal xp orbs can only go through a soulsand filter. Takes exactly 2 minutes to test in creative.

For me it helped to extend this experiment a little to get my mind to stop screaming: Assume you don't have 3 doors, but 100 of them. Now you choose one and 98 of the remaining 99 doors are opened and you can choose to switch. You have a chance of 1% to get the right door in the beginning. In every ...

Re: block dispensor pulse reception and redstone torches.
I'm not completely sure, but I think the problem stems from redstone torches turning off faster than turning on. Therefore you shorten your redstone pulse with the torches to a point where it isn't sufficient for the BD. Pistons have a way faster reaction time and therefore don't have this problem. ...

Re: Lens beam activating mining charges
They set off adjacent mining charges, meaning you can set off a row, if you place three times as many mining charges as needed for the area. This also comes with the disadvantage of destryoing all item drops but those of the last charge. The thing that works with normal spaced mining charges (2 bloc...

Re: Lens beam activating mining charges
This is not somthing I would do as I don't want to go anywhere near turning the Lens into a death-ray, but... Ok, good to know. I categorized it in the same way as the mentioned setting leaves on fire. This way you only have to walk one way placing the charges and wait for them to be activated, the...

But now with the discussion about making mining charges more worthwhile, I decided to throw this idea in t...

First three episodes are fun! :) I don't really expect much from the story, since it already starts with the usual clichès, just a bit more over the top.
