Re: Nausea's too intense [SPOILERS]
I understand. I guess I'm just overly sensitive to it (I also find the Quake FoV nauseating, for example). The moment I notice it I begin to get nauseous. The laptop's recovered now, so no problems there. Just finished watching Vioki's latest stream, so I have some ideas now for remotely toggling th...

Re: Nausea's too intense
I haven't worked out every cause of it, which might be part of my problem, but I guess its my desire to not be spoiled conflicting with my inability to experiment for myself. I don't know what/how to avoid, I guess. I also have to expose myself to it early game for... Grinding netherrack, when inser...

Re: Nausea's too intense
I take it from the response my point wasn't very clear. The nausea swirling goes beyond being an unfun debuff into an actually deliberating visual effect for me. I can't look at the swirling screen without become nauseous myself. While normally I'd congratulate a game on such a level of immersion, I...

Nausea's too intense [SPOILERS]
This is technically a vanilla issue (I think Nausea's vanilla?), but because of reasons it's become a lot more noticeable.
I was merely progressing through the tech tree when something happened and I got the nausea debuff. I... lost a laptop. And my lunch.

Mushroom Islands feel useless
We came across a Mushroom Island recently, to much rejoicing. Then... did nothing with it. We could of set up a base there, but we already have a sufficient mushroom farm. We thought we could bypass a bit of trading and harvest some Mycelium, but then we remembered that requires Silk Touch. Ultimate...

BTW Not Working
So umm... this is embarrassing. I hadn't played Minecraft in a while, decided to start again. Went through the hassle of getting the "old" launcher, and went to start up my usual BTW profile. And then it crashes with "game failed to start" and this error report: ---- Minecraft Cr...

Re: Steam Keys for Trade/Giveaway
While I don't have any keys, I do have a couple of gifts (although I'm not sure how to do the fancy thing where people can claim them via link): 1x 100% Orange Juice 1x Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition 1x Killing Floor 1x Worms Clan Wars I also have eight Origin accounts with the complete Com...

Re: Early-game mushroom farming?
Personally I use a variant of the ol' "Stick 'em in your tunnrls" approach.
My tunnels are 3 high and 2 wide, but then I remove the blocks either side on the floor, before covering the floor in half-slabs. Voila, pitch darkness, perfect for growing shrooms.

Nonsense, Placenta is vital in the crafting of bootsies.SterlingRed wrote:Blight is a side effect of the sfs beacon only.
The conversation regarding placenta blocks was humor and not in game content.

Re: D&D style games
As less of a game and more of a thought experiment, you could always stat up an Exalted character and run it through your favourite game/tv show/movie.
Of course, you're basically just story telling rather than playing a game, but it can be full of fun "what if?" situations.

How are people filling the chests without hoppers?
I mean technically you could have chest minecarts, and fill them externally, but that feels against the spirit of the challenge.

Re: Hardcore Spawn Difficulty
Build a chest at each of your hidey holes. Carry only what you need. Seriously, I have a major problem remembering to build (and use) chests, so when I die, I tend to lose at lot of progress just from having stuff in my inventory. Reminds me of a suggestion a long time ago (was browsing that subforu...

Re: Hardcore Stumping (Spoiler Thread)
- Stumps can be cleared by setting them on fire Really? That seems too easy... Oversight? Unless it's a lead-in to Hardcore Fire, where setting fire to a jungle tree will burn the entire jungle down :P In all seriousness, it'd seem pretty unintuitive for fire not to work (whether or not it'd be rea...

Re: First night in a long time
So my new base is in a small mountain spire. Today I walk outside my base and five spiders fall on me and die.
Huh.
And then a creeper blew me up while I was distracted.

Re: [1.5.2][GUIDE] How-to install BTW w/ MCLauncher & MCPatc
MCPatcher is a mod installer like MultiMC. It allows not only simple swap-in installs of mods, but also mods that patch in specific code. So no, you wouldn't load BTW into the jar by hand, you'd use MCPatcher to load BTW in the jar and then also use it to install a few other mods that come with MCP...

Gloom Night Question
Does Gloom only affect the player, or does it affect mobs too?
I ask because every night my base has been assaulted by spiders that climb onto the roof... except tonight. The only difference? Tonight's a gloom night.
I think they might of been eaten by the darkness...
Meep.

Re: First night in a long time
About to be established. Night fell, I didn't have as much wood as I'd like (huehuehue) because I had to escape from the edge of a Jungle, but I lucked out and hit coal, then had a chicken fall into my base. At night it starts raining. When day breaks it keeps raining. I had to kill and eat my pet c...

Re: First night in a long time
It gets better. I just survived a gloom night (I assume) to behold... The same jungle, and the same six eyes. Apparently it wanted me to see it kill me. Although it was a close call, those grues left me crippled. EDIT: In a more humorous note, I just got clubbed to death by a zombie... wielding myst...

First night in a long time
Spawned in a forest-y area, next to a desert and a swamp. Gathered some wood (just enough for a stone axe), some reeds and found two chickens. Despaired as night fell and I couldn't contain the chickens. Found out too late that the corner in my dugout was in gloom so spent the night watching a skele...

Well it's a great game and even got me to try my hand at lua. Mainly because I wanted flame turrets.

Re: Monetized Mods
An interesting point that I saw: Each game sets the percentage for its mods. Presumably that means that you could have a game that gives all the money to the modders.
