Re: I need the Turtles back: please help

You deturtled all of us over the actions of one person. You've also on more than one occasion deturtled or banned respected members of the community with no explanation. I thought being a turtle meant that we had your respect, but your actions over the last few months have shown that isn't true. Th...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of November 12th)

The design of MC's bosses on the other hand seem to want to avoid the fact that they're *in a game largely about building*. Both bosses destroy blocks in such a way that basically makes constructing an area in which to fight them next to impossible. I see there are a few suggestions on the wiki for...

I don't think I'd worry about that. He's already said he's going to put most of this money towards philanthropic goals, like improving education.

I suspect he's just tired of doing film.

Re: Lucasfilm Bought by Disney

Given that Lucas has spent the years since then hiring people to make more EU, and employed (Or did until a few days ago) Leland Chee specifically to manage all this and keep conflicts down, I'd say the 11-year-old quote is kinda irrelevant. There's a lot of debate on Wookieepedia about levels of c...

Re: Lucasfilm Bought by Disney

So news; apparently a whole trilogy is confirmed (though I think everyone was taking that for granted), and it will be an original story. Source: http://www.toplessrobot.com/2012/10/lets_talk_about_star_wars_disney_and_episode_7_now.php I still suspect that the original cast, if they can get them, w...

Re: Lucasfilm Bought by Disney

Lucas has already established that the "expanded universe" stories are non-canon. He said in 2001: When I said [other people] could make their own Star Wars stories, we decided that, like Star Trek, we would have two universes: My universe and then this other one. They try to make their un...

Re: Lucasfilm Bought by Disney

The only problem I can think of immediately is that Lucas has always been very tolerant of fan organizations like the 501st, even though technically their costumes violate his copyrights/intellectual property/whichever one it is for stormtrooper armor. Disney might not like that so much, and that c...

Lucasfilm Bought by Disney

http://thewaltdisneycompany.com/disney-news/press-releases/2012/10/disney-acquire-lucasfilm-ltd I thought this must be a joke at first, but it seems true. Four billion dollars? o_o EPISODE 7 COMING OUT BY 2015?! Though . . . had this news come out prior to the horrible prequel movies, I'd be horrifi...

I used to be a Mad Scientist in a charity haunted house (best they ever had, they tell me), so I usually just wear my lab coat and start ranting about destroying all fools. Moved since last year, though, now I can't find the coat . . . I'll just seem like a random crazy person if I rant without it. :(

Re: Another loss in Translation.

This is a good concept to understand for any sort of problem-solving or planning operation, be it computing, event organization, or military tactics. Before you can PLAN a bottle-neck (for a tech tree OR a military operation) you have to learn to recognize them. The most famous military bottleneck I...

Re: (SPOILER) hardcore explosives (SPOILER)

Probably because kilns are generally lower in tempature, around 115-400 C, and sulphur (brimstone) melts at 115C. I agree that crucibles are hotter than kilns, but no kiln I know is that low in temperature. 1000 C is considered a "low" fire. Even the lowest gold firing temps are like 600 ...

Re: Revolution tv series: AHHHHH!!! I CAN'T TAKE IT

It's a great premise, but unfortunately JJ Abrams seems to like taking a good premise and then not doing anything good with it and going in a completely different direction. Just my opinion of him; I was disappointed at how his other famous show (Lost) got off the whole "survival on an island&q...

Ubuntu is also more secure than Windows, whose security is like a sieve. Using Ubuntu programs you can actually edit the password on Windows, bypassing all of its security entirely. I had to do that for my aunt when she forgot her password.

Re: Minecraft as a Tool for Fiction Writers

Here it is! http://www.mediafire.com/?sprobba3w1ei5eq You should spawn in the middle of a large base. Head to the industrial zone, and when you find the cow/pig farm, head in the direction of the back corner of it (near a stone tower). The ship will be on a plain flanked by a rain forest. There's a ...

Have the world save - does anyone have a preference for how I upload it? I'm assuming some third-party site, though I also wouldn't mind e-mailing people individually if they wanted.

Perhaps they have some strange attraction to souls; the souls of the dead, seeing the faces on the pumpkins, but not quite of sound thinking ability, fly into the pumpkins thinking they're real heads. This is what gives the pumpkins their orange color - they're beginning to take on a more red-hued t...

Why not, instead of terraforming the desert, terraform a non-desert with the grass shade you want into a desert? The game will still consider it a different biome, but you could get the desert look.

That's cool to hear. I hope you post pictures when you're done.

I actually put waterwheels on the back of my ship to represent a screw propeller. They aren't in water or anything, so they don't provide any power. They look good, though.

Oh brilliant, I don't know many people who are into naval history, so mostly I just have my own opinion to go on. :D I was going for a look on the prow of a blend of a sailing ship but moving towards the shape of a pure ocean steamship. Even though it's a flying ship, I think for a long time they'd ...
