Re: Fracture's Build
Thanks JWA. New! Inspired by another thread, I decided to make a system for unloading storage minecarts This could definitely be made more efficient (and automated) but here's a video touching on the basic design of this system. Quality is crap, using something that kinda sucks, but doesn't murder m...

Re: Getting items out of cauldrons/furnaces/chests/etc
Good idea, but sadly your not the first to think of it. Battosay has used it (offcourse he has...) and there are probably others. I do want to point out however that it is probably very simple with a furnace or cauldron or chest, but with a minecart it is not due to the rails needed. When the BD su...

I'd join if you want me in, Snapback. Just let me know if there's room, and I'll go get Hamachi on my laptop. I'd play it on that, 'cause it has a mic and I've got skype on it.

Not when I'm using it as the clock setup, no. If I drop the delays back to 1, it works fine for the hemp farm.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
Wow. So, there's obviously going to be a lot of information to unpack from FlowerChild's amazing post. And believe me, we'll definitely be tackling some of the elements he mentioned in future discussions. However , for today, we are going to move ahead with our planned discussion of Ages. What we a...

Re: Automated Hemp Farm Help
Yes. A piston extends on a delayed signal from a detector that it extends in front of, re-triggering it. It's essentially a 1-square proximity-activated clock.Battosay wrote:An extended piston that goes in front of the detector ?

Er, I already have it working lol.Battosay wrote:You won't be able to use a piston in front of the Detector, because their still a bit glitchy, and when blocks around them are powered it prevent them from updating and retracting.

SPC has an issue though, can't use the world edit commands (or anything involving items) with non-vM blocks. Still useful though.elustran wrote: Compatible:

Try... this. http://i308.photobucket.com/albums/kk344/shadowkid2/Minecraft/2011-07-06_062306.png Doesn't need to be diamond, obviously, and that piston is sticky. Re: Multi-Floor Elevator Prototype With Pistons
Interesting concept with the pistons. The wiring is quite extensive but it's a good alternative to having detector blocks :) Have you figured out a way to make the elevator stop at the middle floor when going upwards yet? Oh, and most people who view won't probably download, especially if they're e...

Re: Fracture's Build
Facing the hole in the wall (while standing in the water), the saw was to the left of the hole and therefore didn't get extended. Did the gearbox+axles come at you menacingly? I found I had the saw issue a lot-- it refuses to go sometimes. Timing the pistons has, afaik, no effect-- it's totally ran...

Re: Fracture's Build
I think your trap might be broken. I think I see what you want it to do but something about the sequence for the pistons might be off. Drat. I thought I worked out the sequencing, although for some reason it sometimes refuses to push the saw. What wound up happening when you triggered it? Also, new...

steam-power. Read the post twice, but this about 50 times. Steeeaaam. I can't really see a way for any steam system to work, though, without Finite Water. Boiling the same square of water for infinite steam would be kinda broken. Hm... Time to formulate enough ideas for a potentially (albeit doubtf...

Re: Help: using a detector to stop a windmill?
Yeah, it's for that reason you want to disconnect it. Once dc'd, the windmill can spin freely in storm winds without destroying the gearbox it's attached to, as the axle is disengaged. Good luck with finishing up your lighthouse! :)

The windmill will move, yeah-- but does any power go to/beyond that gear box? That's what you need to watch out for.

Place a block beneath where you want it to be, then look down at that block and place it. Same way most of BTW's blocks are oriented.

There's just two requirements-- the detector must be facing upward, and it must have a clear view of open sky.

Re: BTW: Design Philosophy
The design of better then wolves really fits my playstyle. When I play minecraft, I make mother nature my bitch. I see many people like to make easy to hide mines that can be covered up, or replant forests they gather wood from. I make strip mines and clear cut forests (or simply burn them out of s...
