Re: BDs and leaves (possible minor bug)

Oh. Could we debate this one ? It was a good thing to have sappling collected this way, IMO. Problem is, some people like to have hedges/mazes of leaves, in which case BD's sucking up the leaf block might be better. I don't know the complexity level, but maybe leaf blocks not connected to a log (th...

Texture Pack Question

Couldn't find it on the wiki, nor on the page for the texture pack itself, but-- If I'm to use specific textures for BTW that go with a mod (johnsmith in this case) must I replace the btwmodtex folder in my minecraft.jar, or will placing it in the texture pack's .zip accomplish the same thing? My de...

Yea what I am currently doing, basically. But I have items flying back along my inbound track as well. Not each time but trying to make an attendance free system. As it is now I have to go check to make sure resources are not sitting on the tracks. As well I have items that are passing through the ...

Also, the correct answer for a programmer is "Yes. Did you mean == instead?" Read: "No prior knowledge". Someone who hasn't taken any sort of programming before would not know that a boolean check (in most languages, by the way, not all, so you're not entirely right) is ==, whil...

Of course, most of those issues are mainly for later courses, this pretest basically sees if you have the neccessary mindset on things. as you can see, no math is really done here, variables are just changed. A lot of people just have trouble thinking in terms of programming, i think this test just...

Re: Un-Offical Suggestions List

My suggestion is a little edit to the block dispenser so that when it's powered, has a fertilizer in it, and next to a 'legal' block such as as some grass, or a block of dirt with a sapling on it, it works as if you did it by hand. Hm, maybe the block dispenser could be made into a sort of all arou...

Wait a second...you mention items popping on top of the platforms when they stop. That shouldn't be happening anymore. What version of the mod are you using and on what version of Minecraft? Currently, yes, it just stops when the anchor reaches the pulley, I haven't tried any intermittent stops yet. I'll do a few other things to stop my elevator and get back to you, see if this still occurs if I stop at the same height, but move my pulley upwards.

I have a side-project in one of my worlds that, when it's finished, I'll be very proud of. It'll be a large screen that'll scroll. Sorta. Input will be a 5x3 array of switches. On = black, off = white, button press = move the display forward by 5. Also thinking of making it so that background colour...

Yeah, that's normal. You can move objects to/through redstone circuits, but you can't push the circuits themselves around. Imagine you laid a trail of dust on your floor, then pushed it-- it'd be nothing but a pile of dust afterwards.

Re: Un-Offical Suggestions List

The logic, such as it is, behind my complaint is this: Platforms require a pulley dragging them up to move upward, and when said pulley is not powered, the platforms will pull the rope down, as though they were affected by gravity. The moment they are not connected to a rope, however, this descendi...

Ok, I'll take a look at this. Keep in mind that going through walls made of platforms, and falling through platforms are two distinct issues though. Obviously the priority one is falling through. I figured they'd be pretty much the same thing, since in both cases it's a matter of slipping through w...

Re: Bug: Platforms

Hm. I did it a bit more testing, and I think it does depend on lag. Smaller platforms drop me significantly less often, and I can't seem to make it happen at all with a 2x1x1 elevator, while I almost never stay on top if I nearly fill the 5x5x5 box with platforms.
