I suppose, technically, it could be the cause. Wheat and other crops are transparent blocks, which are resource heavy (hence fast graphics being a lifesaver in jungles, leaf blocks --> opaque) ... But your picture shows you have fast graphics on, and there are less wheat crops there than leaf blocks...
