Re: The Question Of Multiplayer in RTH

In my experience with BTW, I had lots of fun playing by myself for the first couple patches, but as I kept restarting worlds due to various reasons (world restart syndrome + MC updates to world gen), It became harder and harder to play each time. Once I started playing with friends however, it becam...

Re: The little things...

When you see a zombie with an iron sword; fencing him in and waiting for morning. One time in my adventures, I saw a fully armored skeleton taunting me in the daylight. I knocked him into a nearby pit and then proceeded to crush him with sand. After my makeshift sandbox stopped moving, I uncovered ...

Re: What iron tool would you make first?

For me it varies between a hoe and a pick. The way I see it, a hoe opens up a whole new variety things to do, with a hoe I can start setting up a sustainable food source and start progressing down the tech tree with hemp. A pick also opens up options, but not nearly as many. It allows me to mind dia...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!

With Mission Control installed, there have been many situations where I would try to put on a nuclear engine but the hefty price tag ($40,000) made me reconsider in favor of A lv909 + more fuel. It's not a perfect system, but it kinda works. I really want to build assembly lines that produce kethane...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!

Oh yeah, I also got into the mods after hearing things like FAR and Deadly Reentry being tossed about. In the mix that I installed I included the NovaPunch pack. After the initial reaction of "WOOOOOO POWER!!!!!" to the 5m fuel tanks strapped to 7000KN engines faded away, I uninstalled it ...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!

Oh I know about the mainsail, that whole design was an abomination. What I was asking was, how do you plop the rover down in a weight efficient manner? I have a feeling that my method of just crashing the rocket so that the engine + fuel tank explodes and only the rover remains is horribly incorrect.

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!

Damn, landing rovers is kinda hard. I built a rover, stuck it vertically on one of my launcher designs, and only when I was in orbit around the mun did I realize I had no way of landing it. What I had in orbit was a Mainsail engine on a jumbo fuel tank with rover docked on top. After a couple of tri...

Re: Flower's Dev Diary (Week of July 22nd)

Haha, I had those moments even before the recent hardcore changes, before BTW even. I always felt obliged to fill in those creeper holes and as such, never had any spare dirt. I would even level a small hill just for the purpose of fixing creeper holes. What I am amazed at however, is how valuable c...

What you have built should be achievable no matter what. Now that I've seen it, this game absolutely needs moving table saws. Very clever and economic design IMO.

Will try that out for the incoming rover delivery. Although now that I am at the Mun, I am at a bit of a loss as to what I am supposed to do there heh. The module I successfully delivered has a radio tower, solar panels, science, comfort, and room for expansion. Except I dunno what to add on, I have...

Re: Kerbal Space Program 0.21 is out!

Well, having picked this game up a while ago and only fooling around (Barely even making it into orbit, just explored Kerbin and messed around with aeroplanes and rocket powered cars), I finally got serious with v.21. Wow... First rocket I made got into orbit, and I managed to make the orbit perfect...

I too have been playing it for the past couple of weeks. Although IMO the dev has too much of a block for everything approach, its still gives you many interesting constraints to design around. My only pet peeve is the blueprint system. Considering that monies are WAY too easy to come by, people bui...

Re: Pours one on the curb for Don't Starve

Yeah, I too was surprised to see an unfinished feature in the default settings of a supposedly complete game. But nothing could prepare me for that logic that some of those guys used... and also how your point went a couple feet over their heads. "Don't like it, don't use it?" Oww... that ...

It's fairly old but it's along the lines of the Sate of Decay i.e. zombie survival, is the Day Z mod. Its an amazing little mod, and even has a multitude of mods for th...

Re: Vanilla Minecraft News Discussion

Lets convince them to start developing expansion packs. I mean, the past couple updates were pretty much DLC : 1.4 AKA Pretty Scary DLC 1.5 Analog / Mo' Redstone DLC That way the core game no longer has to be screwed up and is probably also very appealing to the masses! Perhaps it will even ensure a...

I had assumed you were the master mind behind don't starve I personally thought he was the man behind Dayz, or at least very closely related. They have very similar thought processes and tackle problems in a very similar way. Hardcore spawns seems to be reminiscent of how you spawn on a random part...

I usually use new features just because they are there. But how many of these things do I need? Or want? Almost none. If each update was packaged as a mod and posted on the forums, I would've passed them off as the work of a teenager learning to program and wouldn't even bothered with installing it....

Two years you say? Wow, I remember the first day this mod was released, I remember reading through EVERY post on the MCF thread until about the 100th page or so... mostly to see what idiotic things were being posted by users and FCs responses. I also remember how I stumbled upon this mod: Back then,...
