The examples for things that can be captured by Hatches are inconsistent! Porkchops and Eggs cannot be mass-stacked, so shouldn't they be "stopped" rather than "passed?" 70.120.207.103 11:30, 29 June 2011 (MDT)

Batto : Since it's a bit borring to do, let's split it. I do the list for the wicker and grate, you do the ladder and hatch ?
EvanT: Maybe it is the late hour (its midnight here) but I tried to get some stuff through the hatch aka trapdoor I even checked whether I used the right item because the OP clearly states that everything with a maximum stack size of 64 will pass. Well blocks (cobble, dirt, etc) will not. Ladders and axles do not pass either but torches do so I think it has something to do with them being dropped as blocks.
Batto : That's normal, absolutely no blocks can get through any filter.
Minecraftnerd707: Can hoppers take items from an inventory above them? Like unloading a storage minecart?
Regarding the list, I've tested some, posted it on the hopper page.
DNoved1: No, the hopper can not suck items out of an inventory, unlike the vanilla hopper. To unload a storage minecart you must first break it, then collect the items in a hopper.
Seed filter
For automatic hemp farming it would be great to have a filter that either blocks seeds or only passes seeds. Reason: If hemp and seeds are both processed into a millstone it will soon get full with seeds and hemp can no longer be crafted into hemp fibers. --Faule Socke 08:05, 28 April 2012 (MDT)
