Rope is a utility item crafted from Hemp Fibers. Its most basic use is in the creation of Axles, though it is also part other recipes. 9 pieces of rope can be crafted into a Coil of Rope for more compact storage.

Rope can be attached to an Anchor to create a portable climbing device that will drop downwards. Attaching more ropes to the anchor or the hanging rope will cause it to extend downward until it hits a block. This is incredibly useful for cave exploration and for generally descending from heights without having to first tunnel your way down, or plummet to your potential death.

Another notable use of the rope is in creating elevators using a Pulley, Anchor and Platforms.

Keep in Mind

• The climbing rope can be retracted when the cave dive is complete by right-clicking the anchor with anything but rope in your hand.
• Hold the shift key to stick to the rope while climbing.
• Can be crafted into Hemp Fibers at a ratio of 1:6, making them an effective way to store Hemp Fibers (especially since you can make craft rope into Coil of Rope for 1:56 storage ratio).
