Jungle Spider

The Jungle Spider is a new hostile mob that was added in V4.8915.

Behavior

Jungle Spiders inherit most of their behavior from vanilla Cave Spiders with several key differences:

• Jungle Spiders are exclusive to Jungle Biomes
• Unlike other forms of spiders, Jungle Spiders are not nullified by sunlight. They will attack the player regardless of lighting conditions.
• Their poisonous bite not only causes poisoning to a player's health but also causes Food Poisoning.

Combat

For the reasons listed above, Jungle Spiders make traveling through Jungle Biomes extremely hazardous. The Jungle Spider's ability to leap from tall trees and nullify their prey coupled with the reduced movement offered by leaves mean that a player should avoid Jungle Biomes altogether unless they are properly equipped to deal with them.
