Gold Ingots are bars of valuable and malleable metal, obtained from the combining of nine Gold Nuggets, either through crafting or smelting in a Crucible. It is used to make a wide variety of items such as gold tools, powered minecart rails, armor, Dormant Soulforges and more. It can also be found as loot in dungeons, strongholds, abandoned mineshafts and villages.
Most gold items can be melted down in a crucible to recover a fraction of the gold used to construct it. Tools made from gold are characterised by their low durability, and tools and armor made from it are generally used as decorative pieces than practical equipment.
Zombie Pigmen can also drop gold swords, which combined with a Crucible can be an unlimited source of gold by building a mobtrap in the Nether.
