Glass
Glass is an almost completely transparent block that Light can penetrate though; making it useful for buildings, and can be divided into Glass Panes for building windows. Glass will not hinder a Redstone current from traveling down the side of a block diagonal to it. It requires the Crucible to achieve the necessary temperatures to melt Sand and Nether Quartz,
Redstone Wire, Jack 'o' Lanterns, Rails, Doors, Pressure Plates, Beds, Trapdoors and Ladders cannot be placed on (or against, for trapdoors and ladders) glass. Torches and Redstone Torches can be placed on top of glass blocks, but not attached to their sides. Glass is brittle and cannot be retrieved once placed, unless with a Pickaxe with Silk Touch.

Beacon
A beacon pyramid formed from Glass blocks will visually activate but will have no effects, and unlike other beacon types they will not affect the Compass, making it entirely cosmetic.
Keep In Mind
- Mobs can spawn on glass.
